Ordered every Ghibli movie that the library offers, but I know they won't all show up at the same time. Ugh, I hate inconsistent marathons.

HELP! I'm in need of knowledge about a pretty random topic, and I'm relying on my CV brothers and sisters to come to my aid. Does anyone remember the little wiry haired dog from the Garfield comic and I think he was on the show? It was black and you couldn't really see its face. It just looked like a black cotton ball walking around.

What was his name?

&

Can anyone provide any pictures of him?

I knew I was gay ever since I was little. I wanted nothing more than to live out my life happily fighting warlords and vandals with my beautiful wife, Xena. I'm 25 now, and although that's an amazing fantasy, unfortunately I've had my far share of harsh realities. I'd really love it if people stopped caring about sexual orientation as an issue. Homosexuality isn't a choice and it isn't just prevalent in humans, so can we please move on? Seriously. Gay is a thing, it happens, it doesn't change or corrupt people, it's not an exaggerated lifestyle, it's just what some people are. All that being said, I think it's literally stupid for private retailers and shops to discriminate against people. That's a loss of money, and a bad reputation. You're losing profits for nothing. That's ok though. Go ahead and discriminate and be known for your bigotry and sell your little pastries to all your bigot friends and steadily lose income. I'd love to see your establishment sink in the hole you made for it because I'm pretty sure money has no sexual orientation. Good Job humans.

Considering that I haven't been to the theaters in a long while, my choices may not be from this year but I've seen them for the first time this year so it counts. (^-^o) So without further ado:

1. The Imitation Game. Without a doubt, this is probably Benedict Cumberbatch's best role yet. The movie was paced well and the characters were well developed. One that I plan on adding to my collection.

2. The Heat. There wasn't anything spectacularly imaginative about this comedy, but Melissa McCarthy murdered my sides and it was better than I expected. It's always pleasant when a movie surpasses your initial expectations.

3. ........The universe hasn't gifted me with it yet, but I've got 7 more months to find whoever fits the glass slipper. .....

@neghead: Is definitely one of the coolest, walking nerd encyclopedias that I've ever had the privilege of actually meeting.

I've already told you some of my suggestions on how to improve the sampling that you've given, but I felt like telling you again that it's great! It was intriguing and I wanted to know more about the characters. HOWEVER, I did think of something that I didn't mention before. You took time in the beginning to address the weather, which gave some structure to my mental image of the day, but I feel like maybe your description of the actual setting is lacking a bit. So far all we know is that it's a dreary day in presumably a city, Donora has a flat and a pile of trash outside. Mayhaps a few sentences about where they are might be able to paint a better mental picture to the readers. Just a suggestion, it's still really good.

Definitely more than friends. At least, they always will be in my mind. Those two are meant for each other.

@neghead: Aww shucks Doc, it's nothin'. But I understand how it's going to be difficult for you to edit erotica and try to judge what is critical to the story, and what the readers want. It's a delicate balance. My advice would be to really try to see where the writer was trying to go with it. Are they trying to develop characters? How in depth are they? And also, it's important to take note of when and where the sexual acts take place. Does it make sense to the story? Is it too soon, or just oddly placed? For instance, there's 5 minutes before the building blows up and the heroes who were previously solely focused on escaping are now suddenly stricken with the desire to "get busy" while their opportunities for finding an exist are dwindling. The writer might think that adds suspense to the story but it doesn't. That's a good example of poor writing. Save the sex until after the conflict, or when the timing is better. Anyway, try to keep an eye out for that, because I've noticed a lot of poorly timed dirty deeds that have literally killed stories.
