Ok so I've been reading the 1963 x-men issues and I'm up to issue 26. I like the corniness of the how they used to talk back in the day, the problem here is that I would have to read at least 520 issues to catch up to the current events, but at the same time I don't wanna miss any content. What are some suggestions so I don't go crazy trying to reach all the issues and do this like a boss, but the lazy side of me wants to kinda cheat.

Just pick up some trades of key story arcs like Dark Pheonix Saga, Days of Future Past, Age of Apocolypse, Joss Whedon's run on Astonishing X-Men, etc. Everything else just do an X-Men search on wikipedia, or even this site, to fill in the holes of whats been happening in the X-Men universe and go from there.

Start with Giant Size X-men #1 and work your way up from there. Possibly skip up to Claremont. He's the definitive writer of the X-men. You'll get most of the major story arcs. Look for The Uncanny X-men: Marvel Masterworks
