I didn't like this trailer. They need to sell the core story here and all I am seeing is destruction porn. Also it looks like Mystqiue is gonna be hogging the screen time and leave the other characters underdeveloped. It looks like X-Men Hunger Games Apocalypse as someone on YouTube said.

I think this movie will be better than Origins Wolverine and Last Stand but not better than X2 and DofFP and even X-Men movie. I will say IT will be on the level of Wolverine and First Class.

well, this is a movie that i won't bother myself watching at the cinema, because left for me, they are given mystique more screen time than almost the rest of them. havok's blast looks meh. i bet apocalypse will not have the ability of bio- molecular alteration; such as changing his body to a weapon like or for defense. am not too excited anyways

Well, this trailer did a much better job of getting me interested. Actually looking forward to seeing the movie now.

I just wish Mystique weren't leading the X-Men. Jennifer Lawrence or not, that's weird. Maybe they'll show Cyclops developing into a leader throughout the film.

I feel the same, I mean, I'm sure it will be good, I'm just not feeling it. I think I'm just a bit burnt out with the franchise if I'm honest. I really believe it's time to reboot.

I dunno. Somehow the effects and costumes just look cheesier than other comic movies of late. Not digging Jean, she just doesn't look right to me. And I guess I am getting tired of apocalyptic movies, even if they do have Apocalypse himself. I think characters fighting each other (like Civil War or Batman/Superman) is a little more interesting than characters trying to stop the end of the world, if only because it's happened so much by now.

How did we end up with an X-Men film series where Mystique is a more important protagonist than Storm, Cyclops, Jean, Kitty, Rogue, Emma Frost and Nightcrawler? the trailer makes it look like Storm will just be a faceless manipulated antagonist.

Oh well, hopefully it will surprise me, I'll be seeing it regardless (now that I can get half price tickets).

Xmen films aren't tailored to the comics and star the characters in original soap operas. With very very loose ties to the actual comics w/o completely destroying the character.

So from purely a movie viewing standpoint. I'm sure this will be great. Mystique is the highlight of the films because of its soap opera approach. Most people watching don't give af about the comics and don't have an issue.

From a comic fan viewpoint. Either you will dislike it, deal with it, or enjoy it. I never got deep into xmen books so it doesn't bother me. I still prefer the first two Xfilms over the rest save for the entertaining Dofp. I'm sure I'll enjoy this one too.

Cyclops in this byyatch!!

Y'know, I'm really baffled at the immense attention Mystique's getting in these films. She was a key player in First Class, for some reason, a major antagonist (kind of) in Days of Future Past, and now she seems to be fulfilling a team leader role in Apocalypse? Why?

The focus on Wolverine, I could totally understand: He's gruff, he's cool, he can take a ton of punishment and walk it off, got the whole mysterious past thing, and Hugh Jackman played him amazingly, fine. Sure. I get why they'd focus on him in the original two movies. But Mystique? Sure, she's a cool character, but she's B-tier at best. She was cool playing second-in-command to Magneto. Efficient, interesting power, really cool movie design. But nowhere near leading role worthy.

I guess if they got a great actress to play her, did some cool stuff with her character, I could come around. But they haven't, they're not, and I can't. Her actress in these movies is competent. Neither good, nor bad. Certainly a much weaker character compared to the original in spite of the greater focus, both as a character and a femme fatale.

I just don't understand it.

I am not hyped for this movie, I might pass it up on the cinema if I have better things to do.

This poor franchise, such a shame. Really hope Singer is done after this, and that new stories in the present will revitalize the franchise. The design is just so subpar compared to the other franchises out there... black plastic laser tag suits, really? Negasonic Teenage Warhead had the right look, First Class came the closest (directed by Vaughn, not Singer), but this... sad. Effects, even if they aren't done yet, just don't look impressive or exciting.

I don't know about you guys, but when I fell in the love with the X-Men in the 90s, I was drawn to their bright colors and unique looks... how they were a team, but everyone had different colors and designs, unified (mostly) with yellow in some way. Taking that away removes a lot of the personality of the characters, and we're left with lifeless, boring people with powers.

I liked the trailer a lot,though Apocalypse looks like a joke.

It's refreshing for me because I....don't actually care about the X-Men universe anymore. There's been too much tinkering and changing and odd decisions in it for me to still be invested. So if it does well that's awesome, but if it doesn't (ie it's not a good movie, because we all know it's going to make bank), I'm not gonna be disappointed.

This looks like the X-men movie I’ve been waiting for. My only complaints are that there’s not more villains, (it’s basically X-men vs. X-men), and that my all-time favourite comic book character is supposedly “evil”.

I just want to see an Apoc that doesn't job.

You say that, but why wouldn't Beast be the field leader instead? He's also been there since First Class, he's a genius on par with Xavier, and he DIDN'T have an episode where he tried to assassinate the President and plunge the future into a dark robot dominated apocalypse. His power's are also more suited to a leadership position, granting him strength, speed, and agility so he can lead from the front, whereas having Mystique lead the team actively weakens the effectiveness of her power, which is best used when you don't know she's there at all.

Not hard to figure out. Jennifer Lawrence is Hollywood's current "it girl". They are not going to tell her that she has to take a backseat to other, lesser known actors in a summer, tent pole film, despite whatever character she is playing. This happens in every franchise. It happened to Wolverine in the original X-Men films after Hugh Jackmans career exploded after the first X-Men film, thus rendering most of the following X-Men films into "Wolverine and the X-Men". The same thing also happened in the Marvel movies with Downey Jr. and Iron Man, he is the centric character in the Avengers films and most of the Cinematic universe is built around him despite the fact that in the comics Iron man was hardly the central character in any famous story line.

Frankly, i'm tired of her portrayal of Mystique. I was hoping she would be more reduced to a secondary role in this one but that doesn't look like the case. I'm still hyped for this movie, just not as much now....

The trailers continue to provide me zero interest for this film. Mystique is leading the X-Men for some reason, and the other mutants have been background noise all the while sporting generic black looking armor.

That might just be a mental battle thought, I mean, why would Xavier physically punch him.

Um I think I change my mind about this movie. This looks like crap. :-( The characters are all wrong...the plot is fine, but seriously??? Why of all People is Mystique the Leader of the X-men??? Jean,Scott,Jubilee and Nightcrawler are newbies??? Storm is about to get her A*** kicked and if you guys have notice the part were Apocalypse FIRST approaches Storm she has Brown hair. Psyclocke is kicking Nightcrawler but which is expected it's it's just TOO much wrong in this.

I am glad someone finally mentioned Jennifer Lawrence's A-List status as the reason the films focus on Mystique but this is another glaring example of how Fox simply does not "get" it. Robert Downy Jr. is not the central character in the Avengers and "also A-List" Scarlett Johansen is not the focus either. Marvel is great at understanding that real money is made appealing to the widest audience so not having a single A-Lister as the focus pulls in fans of the other actor's fans. It is the basic formula of the entire MCU! They put out single movies (Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Hulk sort of ) then put them all in a film with equal importance to pull in fans from all of those movies and over 1 BILLION dollars later you have an insanely successful Avengers 1.

Fox on the other hand goes the opposite route where they focus team movies on 1 character that has a popular actor (the aforementioned Mystique and Wolverine). Wolverine works since he a strong anti-hero that is quite human with the exception of the claws (aka relatable to the average joe) while Mystique is not as her true form is quite side-show freakish (aka NOT relatable to the average joe). The real issue here however is the violation of the golden rule - only special effects that do NOT look like special effects should be used. As anyone who has seen the recently released video of the "bridge scene" from Deadpool knows it contained a surprisingly large number of CGI effects yet did not look like it in the least. This trailer shows destruction and other CGI using "particle" effects that always look fake - see the liquid-type things under Apocalypse's body when he is lying on the tomb or the cars/bridge "melting" upward - just awful. The argument that the effects are not finished for the trailer is irrelevant as they effect simply flies in the face of common sense and that is why it comes off as a special effect to the average viewer. The other issue is that whenever Hollywood goes CGI heavy, they go plot light so expect this to be hollow.

Now this is really good and Archangel looks pretty awesome. I do agree with the use of J-Law's Mystique and they're milking this for all its worth, seeing that she did said that this would be the last time she'll play her. That doesn't mean I don't hate her or the direction they're going with her but they could ease up on it just a little.

And as for Olivia Munn as Psylocke, I'm getting more and more excited!

a couple of things were way off , but there were a couple of other smart things ... but the worse of it were the Hollywood's Israeli shots at Christianity Religion .

Apok is refereed to as a God , in the comics they never refer to him as a God & the fight between Archangel & Nightcrawler ,

Angel VS Demon , in comics never happened cause Angel left to become part of Xfactor when Nightcrawler joined

In recent gremlin writing of xmen books by Dc Comic book writers these recent years they are changing Nightcrawler more & more into a demon than an actual mutant like they did iceman into homo sexuality .

The Four Horsemen are odee , Magneto , Storm & Psylocke , augmented by apok thats like how they odee'd the Sentinels by having Mystique DNA to copy & adapt to powers , so they wanna continue to beat down the Xmen for some odd- WarnerBrothers sabotaging reason

Mind you in Comics you cant Break the Mutant Gene code , not even during the Legacy Virus Story line , they with Alien Technology have only come close to synthesize some Mutant Genes at a very low rating .

Other than that the fun stuff starts to appear , Olivia Munn as Psylocke , Such a Plus , They showed Havok , another plus for in Comics it took Cyclops & Havok to take down Apok the first few encounters .

& More Quicksilver , that is one mutant that is so Under rated , Son Of Magneto and brother to Scarlet Witch his Powers should be off the charts .

Hopefully this movie does great would like to see more of Olivia Munn in Action Movies

Better than the first trailer, but I didn't much like DOFP so I'm not as excited as I am for the others but I'll still see it.

This trailer got me more hyped than the last few trailers.

Looks great but like a lot of people on here I'm a bit frustrated with the obsession of Jennifer Lawrence/Mystique. I like both the actress and the character, but it feels unnatural the way she's being forced into centre stage simply for the sake of capitalising on her fame.

Tbh I never like Jennifer Lawrence as mystique , she doesn't really fit her
