    War to Heart

Released in January of 2001, this issue would seem like prattle on the typical X-Men tale regarding mutants' separation from a bigoted and fearful humanity as do most post-action stories follow, even the introduction of Constantin Racal has a subversive chill to it on top of the monster-morphing parents and dissident children. But what gives this issue a 4th star is from the eerie foreshadows this issue plays on future events eight months later. Reactionary fears of terrorist activity, child protectionisms, reciprocals against social groups, and the flat out apprehensive uncertainties after massive devastation reflected months before 9/11 give the story a creepy feel when its solid mystery already seems good.
