The Suicide Squad fights against O.M.A.C., yay?
It looks like another problem that the Suicide Squad has to handle with the introduction of O.M.A.C. in this issue! Written by Matt Kinot with art by Jim Fern and Wayne Faucher.
The Good
The story was ok. This Suicide Squad issue centers around O.M.A.C. and how he's going on a rampage with the Thinker at the helm! There's a bunch of action, it's won't be memorable, but it was just cool guilty pleasure action. Most of the Suicide Squad couldn't go toe-to-toe with a powerhouse like O.M.A.C., but it was cool to see how the worked together as a team.
Power Girl and Steel were in this issue, but they don't really serve any other purpose except superhero backup.
The artwork by Jim Fern with inks by Wayne Faucher is good. It's adequate for this series and it was good to see how they handled the characters.
The Bad
This story was predictable. While the action was guilty pleasure and cool to see how the Suicide Squad handled fighting O.M.A.C., this won't make you want to read more issues if you are a new reader. Suicide Squad isn'f for everyone, but if you find something you like within one of the stories, I suggest continue to support this series! This last O.M.A.C. story arc issue is the best time if you are looking to start reading this series, but there's not much this issue offers in terms of good story. Also, Power Girl and Steel didn't have a significant role in all of this. They appeared once in the beginning, then again in the middle, and finally at the end. However, every time the two heroes shows up it's like "where'd they go?" and back to the Suicide Squad doing their thing. So taking out these two characters would've probably been for the best.
The Verdict
The Suicide Squad are once again under the thumb of Amanda Waller and O.M.A.C. is gone (for now)! If you are a new reader jumping onto this series, you'll have enjoyable guilty pleasure action moments, but nothing really good in terms of story. So I suggest to just read this issue to get you acquainted with the Squad and then continue to read onwards. Overall 1 out of 5!
