Star Trek and Zombies? Yes, Please

The second part of IDW's Infestation crossovers tells us whether or not the Enterprise crew will survive a zombie attack.

    The Good

The first issue really got me excited. It wasn't everything I wanted but the idea of Star Trek characters meeting zombies was so wrong yet too good to pass by. You might think that with their advanced technology, they could easily take out any zombie threat but thankfully that isn't the case.  There's so much potential in combining these two genres together.

    The Bad

Unfortunately some of the execution didn't work out as well as I would've hoped. Being that this was just a two issue miniseries, the problem is solved before you know it. Bones may be a brilliant man but should he be able to come up with a solution so quickly? It also felt weird seeing a droid-type character. I can't recall anything similar in any of the Star Trek runs. When the crew faces the final threat, she just didn't look like a Star Trek universe character. That may have been the intention but it just felt wrong.

    The Verdict

The Star Trek crew fighting zombies felt like such a great idea. I couldn't wait to see how it would turn out. The two-issue series was over before you know it and makes the danger feel too rushed. I felt there was a lot of potential here but unfortunately it just wasn't met.
