My money is on it definitely has something to do with Ultimate Spider-Man and nothing to do with 616 Spidey.
Spider-Man
Character » Spider-Man appears in 17252 issues.
Peter Parker was bitten by a radioactive spider as a teenager, granting him spider-like powers. After the death of his Uncle Ben, Peter learned that "with great power, comes great responsibility." Swearing to always protect the innocent from harm, Peter Parker became Spider-Man.
Spider-Men Hits Stores in June
@TheGoldenOne: And the regular Avengers (though he left recently), and the FF. But not one where he is the team leader and the team follows his agenda.
Its obvious that calling this Book Spidermen would make people think that Peter would return, makes me wonder why they would call it that because if peter does not return then it seems like a bait and switch which seems a bit mean two those who don't like the fact that peter is dead.
Spidermen, Spidermen, do whatever spiders can Spin some webs, any size, Catches thieves just like flies. Look out! Here come the Spidermen.
Are they strong? Listen bud— They've got radioactive blood. Can they swing from a thread? Take a look overhead. Hey there! There go the Spidermen.
In the chill of the night, At the scene of the crime, Like a streak of light, They arrive just in time!
Spidermen, Spidermen, Friendly neighborhood Spidermen. Wealth and fame, they've ignored— Action is their reward. To them, Life is a great big bang-up— Wherever there's a hang-up, You'll find the Spidermen!

Ok here go another rant.. First off I do have a respect for BMD. But for crying out loud isnt anyone tired of the same thing? Brian Michael Bendis put Spider Man on the map in a good spot then he pick on Avengers and first he did a great job then ........... well I wasnt happy when they try to make 5 tittle of Avengers. And people still like this guy. He is a terrific writer but please pick another hero. Build him up and put him on the map. Take a freaking example of Geoff Johns(Aquaman), Scott Synder(Swamp Thing). This are comics that in my life I thought I collect and now im happy when they come because I want to read themevery freaking month. My retailer and me we were talking and thought that Bendis should take the X-men and remake them maybe that should be a good thing. Anyways another Spider Man tittle over the 15 titles they are out already just please it wont be something I will put my eye out and see unless a GREAT artist is working him and I dont know Pichelli much so not trying to dismissed it already but when you give me another #1 just looking for someone I know and that would be worth it. But you never know maybe I look over it and see if i like it and take it from there.
Its going to happen in Ultimate spider-man:
You can see in each image that the left side is definitely Miles's spider symbol and the one on the right is definitely Peter's:
Peter is returning? I'm interested now!
I really hope they don't bring Ultimate Peter Parker back, the fact that all of these huge characters have died and we're having new characters come in to take their place is what has made the Ultimate Universe so fresh and new recently.

Could be the Peter Parker clone SHIELD have locked up (the Scorpion one).
I hope not, they should keep him as Ultimate Scorpion. He would make a great villain for Miles to eventually fight, I mean having the new Spidey fight a crazy clone of the original Spider-Man would make for a great character developing story for Miles as a superhero.@War Killer said:

@War Killer: I agree about Ultimate Scorpion I thought he was a pretty interesting character but all the signs seem to point to a return of Ultimate Peter Parker in some aspect.
I'm seeing those signs as well, which only makes me hope that those signs are wrong because even if they do bring Ult Peter back, why so soon? I mean Miles hasn't even figured out how to shoot freakin' webs yet. One of the reasons I've liked the Ultimate Universe is because with most deaths (minus a few exceptions) those characters stay dead. One of the things that's made the mainstream Marvel books dull is the fact that they use cheap deaths where the character comes back after only a year of being dead. If that starts happening in the Ultimate Universe then I'm afraid the same dullness is going to happen in this universe as well.@War Killer: I agree about Ultimate Scorpion I thought he was a pretty interesting character but all the signs seem to point to a return of Ultimate Peter Parker in some aspect.
@War Killer: I have this feeling they are planning on making Miles the Ultimate Scarlet Spider. Have you compared his costume to Kaine's(current Scarlet Spider)? They are practically identical except the colors are inverted. In which case i'm guessing they'll take the whole clone taking up the mantle of Spider-man like in the 616 verse(Ben Reilly). It could be good if handled properly but it could also be a disaster. I'm quite interested to see what they have planned with this Spider-men arc as to be honest I can't relate to Miles as a character, thus I have no real problem with letting him go.
See, I still don't see the point in doing that though and really wouldn't make the stories anymore original. What would be the point in killing the original Spider-Man, have a completely new character take his place, only to replace the original with a clone and demote the new Spidey to a secondary role? If they do that, what was the point of killing Peter off in the first place if you're just going to replace him with a clone of HIM. It just doesn't add up, and looking at it, just because Miles and Kaine's suits looks similar in design doesn't mean their setting Miles up to be the Ultimate Scarlet Spider.@War Killer: I have this feeling they are planning on making Miles the Ultimate Scarlet Spider. But I guess we'll find if Marvel is planning on throwing, yet again, perfectly good character development out the window (again) or if they're actually going to do something surprising this time...
@War Killer: Well its only speculation on my part. Kaine and Miles's costumes look eerily similar to me. Since when did anything Bendis wrote have a point anyway? lol
Well despite all of the Bendis bashing on this site, when it comes to Ultimate Spider-Man most people agree that series is where Bendis actually shines as a writer and where people actually enjoy what he does with the characters. Unlike his work on Avengers, I've never felt his work on Ultimate Spider-Man to be annoying and actually like what he's doing with the book and the characters in it.@War Killer: Well its only speculation on my part. Although I do think the Ultimate universe is where he does his better work I still wouldn't put it past him to do something like this.
I bet it will be Miles Morales and the Ultimate Scorpion Clone from Ultimate Clone Saga. I don't think they have done anything with him since then.

NO to Bendis...
He's doing a fine job on the Ultimate Universe to be fair.
I'm getting so irritated by all the people whining, "MILES SUX CUZ HE ISN'T PETER PARKER AND I CAN'T ADAPT TO CHANGE HURRR DURRR". Seriously, nobody over at Marvel cares what you think. Most of you are still buying USM, despite you going on and on about how frustrated you are by the change. Peter Parker was getting ridiculously stale and boring in the Ultimate universe, and it was blatantly clear that a new direction needed to be taken.
This would've bought my interest if it was a collabo between Bendis and Slott, with Pichelli and Ramos on pencils. But, it only feels half-right now.
@Illuminatus: To begin with Peter Parker as Ult. Spider-Man was not getting stale, in fact I felt the complete opposite to be true. I thought he was getting more awesome with that training with the Ultimates happening. But at least you're not calling everyone who dislikes Miles a racist which is pretty much par for the course.
Anyways I hope that they do resurrect Parker, I mean everything we have seen shows that people under the effects of OZ are capable of coming back from the dead. Who knows maybe it will be 616 Spidey that gives Miles his first webshooters... That would be pretty cool.
Peter training with the Ultimates would've been ridiculous. He was never of questionable morality in that universe, and the Ultimates have a basic "Kill 'em before they get back up" policy. I'm glad it didn't go any further.@Illuminatus: To begin with Peter Parker as Ult. Spider-Man was not getting stale, in fact I felt the complete opposite to be true. And yeah, those people who call others racist for no reason whatsoever are even worse.

I bought the first 2 USM's and haven't touched another since because I find Miles to be a poorly thought out character. They had a completely clean slate and they botched it. I was really looking forward to reading about Miles after Ultimate fallout so I was pretty disappointed by the results.
I actually believe the opposite to what you said. I think he's a bad charcater because he IS to much like Ultimate Peter Parker. I see him as Peter Parker V 2.0. They haven't tried to make him unique or distance him from Peter Parker. Eg: Spider-man 2099 was great because he definitely wasn't Peter Parker. He was prepared to kill, he was a lot older than Peter (he was what? 28 when he got his powers?) and his powers where unique but didn't detract from the fact he was definitely Spider-man. The thing that really clinched it for me though was how they gave him his powers. To me that just said "we're to lazy to come up with a unique origin and we're just going to let another spider like the one that bit Peter bite Mile's".
If they had made Miles older (around 21-25) I would find it a lot easier to relate to him as a character but as it stands i'm just reading it and thinking "Yeah, 13 year olds really think like that......"
Having said that I hope they don't resurrect Peter as it would detract from his heroic death but if its his clone I could get on board with that.
Seeing Miles having trouble with training and SHIELD seemingly not wanting to train him like they did Peter, my money is on Peter temporarily coming back from the dead to train Miles himself and give him his blessing to become spider-man. After that he will vanish in a dramatic closing scene, probably saying goodbye to loved ones.
O well, at least give me Peter :')
