The word early on from Sam Raimi was that he wasn't sure if Kirsten Dunst would return as Mary Jane. He said several times that he would love for her to be back but wasn't sure if it would happen. Now it appears that she will definitely return.
According the the NY Post, producer Todd Black answered a few questions regarding the next Spider-Man movie. He said Dunst is "definitely on board." He also shot down the rumor that the movie would see the marriage between Peter and Mary Jane. Black also said that Morbius will not be the villain (as speculated by several online sources). Who could the villain be? Black had this to say:
We're just coming up with who the villain's going to be now. We'll be shooting in New York again. Trust me, people will appreciate who we pick, because it'll be a big part of New York.
What do you think? What villain is a "big part of New York"? Maybe Kingpin? I don't know if I'd "appreciate" that.
