Well re-casting MJ could over-shadow Tobey Maguire's terrible acting. I guess they thought it would feel kind of lopsided if they hired a good actress. Looks like my prediction of another unwatchable Spider-Man movie is well on its way to being realized. Excellent.

they should do the lizard cause Curt conners' lost his arm in the third movie! they should at least show a little bit of him at the end of the movie to show him as the villain. Kinda like what they did with sam sterns in THE INCREDIBLE HULK

I'm glad they aren't replacing MJ. I don't like when they chance the cast unless they are rebooting the series.

They could have casted her better, but she hasn't ruined any of the movies for me. Spider-Man 3 was the only one I was really disappointed with and that was due to too much going on in it, not Mary Jane. And I think it would disappoint me more recasting her then having her in it now.

I don't really understand all the hate. She may not be the best option for MJ, but she's certainly suitable. Off the top of my head, I don't know who I would pick instead.

Mary Jane should have been hotter, more of a flirt, and less whiny. But it still didn't ruin the movies for me, I loved the first two. I even enjoyed the second one action wise though the story pissed me off. And I just can't stand recasts.

Ok, well if there will be no Wedding I can not see any reason for her to come back except for a tragic death scene. As for the villain I think it may be the return of Norman Osborn, with his son now dead there is no one else left to run the company (well a main character anyway).

Who else could be MJ, of course Dunst is back, she's good at it.

im def down with dunst playing maryjane, i think she does a good job. shes real pretty, not pretty enough, but its still cool. she plays the character well

I watched Spider-Man 3 on Encore 2day, I've changed my mind about Dunst, not that I hated her before just thought they could get someone hotter this time. But that's not important, she's a good actress.
