    Proper Japanese Title: 週プレNEWS

    Note: While the site Shupure News has ties to Weekly Playboy generally, this site is only interested in the manga portion.

    For most of its decades-long run, Weekly Playboy serialized a handful of manga by veteran authors, often being spin-offs or sequels to their earlier works. But in 2011 it made an unprecedented decision to remove the manga section from its magazine entirely and to serialize its ongoing serials digitally instead.

    In 2016 manga returned to Weekly Playboy with Tough but the serializations that had already left the magazine for digital platforms remained there. It was only in 2020 after more than 300 chapters online that the final Shupure News exclusive, Kinnikuman, returned to Weekly Playboy proper though chapters continued to be simultaneously published online as well.
