Yay diversity Avengers. My excitement cannot be contained. So, essentially, only Vision is left of the old guard. I'm not sure about Iron Man, they say it's not Tony, but it's clearly Tony on concept art...
It is Tony; I think he's going to be broke and not able to fund the Avengers.
I honestly find the idea of The Avengers taking in teenage kids in as members of the team to be out-of-character for them. One thing Marvel has never been big on is teenage sidekicks, which is one of the reasons Stan Lee chose to kill Bucky off when he brought Cap back in Avengers #4 (Vol.1).
And while these younger heroes aren't sidekicks like Robin or Kid Flash, they are still kids and the idea of The Avengers allowing them to fight big-time villains seems very reckless on their part and very out of character.
I feel like if Marvel wanted to give these characters some more spotlight, they could instead bring back the Young Avengers with characters like Miles and Nova being a part of the new line-up, leaving the main Avengers team for the big boys (and girls).
The only character that would seem to be good for the Avengers would be Nova because he held his own against Inverted Doc Green as Kluh. He also held his own against Terrax & helped the Avengers against Red Onslaught & Phoenix Force Cyclops. I say he proved himself, only Spidey & Ms. Marvel haven't proven themselves as Earth's Mightiest Heroes which would seem reckless for them.
Because they're keeping the old stories still. Tony Stark still mentions how the Avengers got started and the things with the name and other things. The origin story will be how this incarnation of the team got started
