They had resistd her offer they had told her no, transmutation would not be had. That blue skinned peaceful graceful creature had offered the world's inhabitants liberation from war from sickness from the shortness of life. They were a good species growing fast and rising to impressive heights, resistance was still in their veins however. Rebellion. Disorder. The offer would not be taken, they had chosen their fate! All around the planet were nanites hovering in the air all the people had to do was say yes and the evolution would begin. Refusing however led the blue skinned woman to simply snap her fingers. The thought of the action was the trigger in truth then the actual act. The link of all belonging to her was that instantaneous. The altering energies were not needed and as such their was no need pay heed to saving it. A wave small as an atom washed over the planet. It covered every creature, structure, molecule and then it went off. Each small machine detonating with a unreal energy source like a small nuclear bomb. The entire planet was engulfed in an ethereal fire that obliterated everything in its path. Before the child could scream, before the animal could run, before the rulers could call for extraction it was over. The planet was dead the core practically extinguished and rapidly cooling the atmosphere burned away. All managed by the smallest of forces in the arsenal…..
A Thousand years ago
When a Deveyrenat child is born they at first spend their years apart from the hive mind. This is when they develop the interests that excite them and begin to shape who they are mentally. These developments will decide who that person will be in the future to come what path they will take. For Widew she became enthralled with a love of the sciences and technology that shifted her people into essentially who they are today. She was mesmerized by the study of biology and physics driven to know the nature of all living organisms. Driven with a lust to learn how to access the forces of the universe to make the greatest discoveries of imagination ever so much as imagined. It was a curiosity and study that defined her and this was what became her mind. Upon her hundredth year when considered a young adult she was linked to the hive mind. In a painful yet breath taking moment all the knowledge of both fields in every possible meaning of the word for the species was branded into her mind. No teaching was called for instantly she was able to begin chasing after new discoveries to make her people even greater then they were. That was five hundred fifty seven years ago, now that connection paid off.
Her cobalt colored eyes flashed with a almost chimin fashion. Finally a discovery had been made that would truly have an impact. After years and years of seeking answers secrets that were hard to even fathom had been unraveled. The very fabric of evolution was resting just feet from her eyes, inches away from her hands. A violet colored table was before her scattered with a variety of micro computers, flickering monitors and numerous scalpels needles vision aids and more. All of it used to complete a sample and all of the tools paled in comparison to it. Before her was a ikep a parasite like worm the size of a feline. It's maw could bite through even some metals but it seemed to favor devouring much fowler things. It was a disgusting slimy creature but it was also perfect for using on studies. Even if someone somewhere was the strongest supporters of not dissecting or studying any body under a scalpel, they would be fine with studies on the foul worm. The creature itself however was far from the exciting thing starting to transpire however only a fool would of thought that. The greatness was in what had begun to transpire throughout the physique of the little thing.
Ikep's muscle structure twitched frantically as if liquid plasma was running through its veins. Widew seeing the veins pulse with a faint red light even concluded that might infect be happening to the insect. Slowly the twitching creature coiled in a ball screeching in despair as it's spine began to bulge and change. It cracked through points in the body where 'joints' were. All the wile these expanding bones began to harden and distort. Slowly much to the scientists aww the bone was becoming metallic. She had thought it would be the result of her genetic alterations in no way however had she thought that such a remarkable metal would come from it. The reedings were unlike anything she had ever seen. It was as if the scales of Melashin were starting to form the creatures bones. As its marrow finished becoming a carapace the muscles began under going a similar transmutation breaking apart, peeling back becoming undone before finally altering into a similar metallic like structure. It's eye's began to melt as a growing energy built in the thing. Finally in a sharp painful howl, one both like beast and grinding metal the creature yelled eyes flashing bright red and a small bone barked from its mouth slamming into a wall like a round from a rail gun. It had become the synthetic not organic or metallic, not even bioenginered but a true fusion of life and machine it had become evolution. If the lowest parasite could evolve imagine what it could do to the universe. She took off to meet with the Mintaya to reveal her discovery.
The room was alit with a soft blue light revealing everything in a way that was subliminally soothing. Just to be in the presence of the queen was to lose any hostility it seemed, the pinnacle of diplomacy seemed with in this room. Everything was balanced and fair lacking any form of even an edge. Ferocity was alien to the violet and ivory colored room. "Widew Nesiliken is it. The hive says you've made a great discovery?"
Widew bowed as respectfully as possible for her leaving no restraint at all. She was loyal to the very core of her being."Synthetic life the fusion of both living and metallic I have found how to make it a reality. We could become the very peek of evolution the apex of existence. Imagine the universe bound all as one, no more war and oppression. We are slaves to illness and age we could remove it from all reality. We could each be a melashin bound by nothing but what we imagine to be possible."
The throne majestic yet not dominating in a most artistic way flashed with an indescribable brilliant light. It was the Network, a membrane like formation often also called the hive mind. It was imbedded in every single ship of the empire scale fleet. All information flowed through it like a river accessible to any of the race. Tentacle and vein like protrusions came from the seat transferring the information into Olair's mind. And for a short time her mind was equal to that of the scientists. As a moist hiss came as the devices parted her flesh she exhaled taking in the information. "We can't do this it's forced evolution it would require distorting the very DNA of living organisms."
"What does that matter when so much gain is possible!?"
"It would mean we are no longer Deveyeant. That the primitive apes are launched past a form they can comprehend. Rather then overcoming the differences of the Symaarian Imperium they would be stripped of all that they are. The Eldar so proud of what they are would lose that. You wouldn't be saving the universe you would be killing it."
"We could be one we could be whole. Is the chance of complete unity and perfection to be discarded out of paranoia?"
"Is the death of thousands of races worth the formation of one." it was not a question the way Olair put it.
"This. Universe. Will. Eat. Itself. Alive."
"So lets split it and make it the grotesque cevilay. You speak heresy." Her words soft a gentle warning.
"Then disconnect me from the hive. LABEL ME A NEFARIUS!"
"It is decided then" Olair remarked with solemn regret.
"You are blind" the two remarked under their breath as Widew walked away.
Present On the Outskirts of the Crimson Rim
On the burning world a metal foot crushed the barely alive ikep. It was the soul living thing on that world and she crushed it like an insect. It tried to be born after the destruction, but their was no life after denying her. "You were blind and now, you will see taught through powers even you fail to fully grasp."
