Dr. Doom - Savior of Earth

Dr. Doom in a lot of way reminds me of Lex Luthor. Wealthy, Intelligent, independent, and from time to time sides with Heroes when there is a greater threat.

Plus there have been indications in the comics that eventually the world will face a massive threat, and unless Dr. Doom rules and leads the charge, the world will be loss.

In addition, in some stories when he has taken over, things are seemingly a paradise.

And despite him being a "Villain", he's certainly no fan of Villains either and has frequently clashed with them on numerous occasions. He bows to no one.

He comes across very much like a Marvel universe "Chosen one" but not the "Chosen one" that anyone would expect or want. But it makes sense. Insanely wealthy, incredibly intelligent, a ruler, powerfully magical, a master of technology, while having skill in Martial Arts as well from his travels. He seems to posses some Psionic abilities as well.

And on top of that, he's Hosted some pretty potent powers including The Power Cosmic, The Phoenix force, and those of the Beyonder.

I propose a storyline where, after a major instance with prominent supervillains causing mass death and destruction, including an entire Latverian Delegation, Doom decides enough is enough. He's decided that the Superhero/Supervillain dichotomy must end. Too long has the Earth, and his people, been subjected to attacks from villains, terrorists, aliens, monsters, universal threats, mystical threats, and multiversal threats, and Dr. Doom now intends to be the savior it's been prophesied that he'd be. His first step is to acquire power, and titles. One's that will make him invincible.

List items

  • Dr. Doom began his journey by donning his armor and first determining where he should go to obtain what powers. He decided against immediately setting upon earths heroes and villains, as it was unlikely that he would go unnoticed long. He instead set his sights on items and powers held by forgotten foes, or exist in deep space, or can be established by making secret deals with interdimensional powers. No need to tell them that he has every intention of betraying them eventually.

  • Dr. Doom knew he was powerful but also knew that there may be some contest of strength so he researched and experimented and eventually created his own Lifestone Tree.

  • From the Life stone tree he gained the powers of:

Doctor Demonicus wielder of the largest Lifestone fragment which can cause genetic mutation and development of psychic abilities.

Elsa Bloodstone wielder of the Bloodgem which grants superhuman physical abilities, regeneration, and immortality. Her father Ulysses Bloodstone could utilize it for Psionic's such as astral projection, intuitive aptitude and limited psychokinesis.

Blue Diamond wielder of unnamed fragments which grants a body the density of a diamond, making the wielder incredibly strong virtually indestructible. Given a complete lifestone by Star-Dancer, giving him a flawless diamond body able to harness cosmic energy.

Stargod (Manwolf) wielder of the Godstone which grants the user a lycanthropic form with lunar phase augmentation as well as some level of telepathy and cosmic energy manipulation.

Doctor Spectrum wielder of the Power Prism which grants the ability to create photonic energy, flight, and light-based constructs.

The Sphinx wielder of the Ka Stone which grants an array of abilities including time/space manipulation, immortality, and energy manipulation.

Basilisk wielder of both the Alpha and Omega Stone's which granted temperature control, limited molecular manipulation, and teleportation.

Moonstone (Karla Sofen) wielder of the Moonstone which grants the ability to control gravity, light-based powers, and intangibilty.

  • Powered up to a significant degree, He first sets his sights on the Amulet of Power. It's previous holder, Desak, was taken by the Goddess of the Amulet, Tarene.

Upon arriving Doom sees that Desak was not resurrected and lie dead and decomposing. Doom picks it up and is immediately confronted by Tarene. Despite some initial hesitance on her part, Doom convinces her by promising that he will no doubt come up against Thor and other Asgardians over the course of his journey. As such she gives him the Amulet and he Immediately attains the physical and mystical attributes of a God as well as the capability to kill one, probably likely in the future. It also allows him to summon the Destroyer Armor, which, when he does, fuses with his power armor creating a combination of magic and technology, strengthening them both.

  • Keeping with the theme of God Killing, he next acquired the remnants of All-Black the Necrosword. Using magic, he remade it and took it as his own, acquiring the massive powers of the first symbiote. It assimilated his armor into itself as well, becoming one with it and amplifying it's powers, and by extension, Dr. Doom's. It also begins assimlating the Amulet of Power an the Lifestone Gems as well, so they're part of the armor, not something added on that can be removed.

  • Afterwards, Dr. Doom began searching for the infamous cosmic cube that had disappeared some years back. He was able to find it and integrated it into his symbiote armor.

  • The next step on his journey would be to acquire the power cosmic. He's used it before and believes it would be an easy power to utilize for him. The one issue was where to acquire it. The Silver Surfer, he's absorbed it from him before, but as the favorite of Galactus, that would attract undue attention.

Instead he chose to attack a different herald, one who did not know him. Ardina, a human Herald of Galactus, but definitely not one of his favorite. While she may know the name Dr. Doom, with the combined Armor of the Amulet of Power and All-Black, he was certainly unrecognizable and yanked the power from her. He then teleported her to a distant planet.

Certainly Galactus would find her and maybe eventually work out who attacked her, but by then Doom would be a multiversal threat in his own right.

  • With the power of the Power Cosmic and the Cosmic cube, Doom had enough power to find and subdue the Phoenix force, becoming it's new host.
