Well, thats a bummer (Darkwing Duck and Duck Tales end)

This just in. There might not be a lot of people who have been reading Darkwing Duck or Duck Tales published for a year now by Boom! Studios, but wanted to send this out there.

According to Medtown Comics, Boom! is ending their Disney comics line. Midtown Comics is pre-selling Darkwing Duck 17 & 18 as well as Ducktales #6. Here are their studio provided descriptions for each:

"(W) Ian Brill (A) James Silvani 'Dangerous Currency,' Part 2. The Darkwing Duck/DuckTales crossover event twenty years in the making picks up from DuckTales #5 here! Whatever happened to Fenton Crackshell, the original Gizmoduck? Darkwing Duck and visiting Duckburg tycoon Scrooge McDuck intend to find out - that is, if they don't disappear themselves! It's the end of an era as KABOOM! says goodbye this month to Disney in a final epic story spanning Darkwing Duck #17, DuckTales #6 and Darkwing Duck #18."

(W) Warren Spector (A) José Massaroli Final Issue! 'Dangerous Currency,' Part 3. The Darkwing Duck/DuckTales crossover event twenty years in the making heats up right here! Following the events of Darkwing Duck #17, Uncle Scrooge and Darkwing Duck discover the source of all the chaos in Duckburg and St. Canard. But will this less than dynamic duo be able to concentrate on the task at hand when skinflint Scrooge finds a way to turn a profit? Only Epic Mickey's Warren Spector has the answers! Concluded in Darkwing Duck #18, out this month!"

(W) Ian Brill (A) James Silvani Final Issue! 'Dangerous Currency,' Part 4. The epic Darkwing Duck/DuckTales crossover event concludes right here! This is it fans, the last Disney single issue from KABOOM! has arrived. It's the end of an era as we say goodbye to Disney at KABOOM! Don't miss this landmark final issue from the relationship that put kids comics back on the map!"

With that, My whole pull list is shot out of the water. my DC part was completely redone and I'm still unsure what I'll get. However, I was thinking Darkwing Duck would be my rock. My sancuary from all the chaos. Perhaps a few months after I started collecting offically (like going to the store and getting comics) and actully joined this site, I heard about the new Darkwing Duck. Ian brill might not have been the best author, but he did a good job. Silvani was perfect. It was one of those comics you just love to read. That was joyful and just fun. Duck Tales was getting there. Warren was stuggling to get the story going. He still sort of still is. Some of you reading this might remember a series you loved that was canceled or ended. I have no idea if Marvel-Disney will resurrect Darkwing (I could never find anything I wanted on their site). Sort of depressed. you have no idea how hard it was to write this blog (and I'm the poet...I am a writer, but its like hearing a friend's going to die). Ah, well, thats life for ya. going to look at my favorite list I put togther a while back (based on the song " put on a happy face"). We will see what the morning brings...

@The Poet: Yeah Marvel has done a Cars Magazine.

Frankly I am not really onboard with the idea of marvel doing Darkwing Duck, UNLESS they get the exact same team doing the series and allow them to tell the story their way. which is more than likely not to happen. To me soon as marvel gets their grubby paws on Darkwing it will be a watered down version from the Quality we have gotten from Ian Brill.

@Jotham: well, boom has published a few series based on the Cars movie as part of their Pixar licence. However, Disney pulled the plug on them a little while ago.

I wasn't aware that Marvel had published Cars yet. But I'm sure we'll see it soon.

I guess it's because the license ended and disney will publish through marvel now. They've already begun to publish Cars.
This may be interesting to your relevants.

@CATPANEXE: well, they've already lost rescue rangers. At #8, they ended it.

@danhimself: I hope so. I dearly hope so. (if that does happen I need someone to explain how to find stuff on the Marvel page. Nothing can be viewed there...sorry angry).

Sorry to hear this. The Darkwing comic was received as " a dream come true " to many readers.
I assume Boom! is losing the Rescue Rangers then as well?

I hear you about pull list confusion. I have no clue where mine stands later this year.
