"What happened?"
"You don't remember?"
"No."
"War."
"War?"
"War."
"Why?"
"I ask myself that sometimes, young one. Why must take arms against any one else."
"Money, land, differences in ideologies."
"Power."
"...and there's that....So this was about power, then."
"You really don't remember, do you?"
"What are you not telling me?"
"What are you not telling yourself, young one? Quillan Noble of Earth...Agent Zero."
"Agent Zero?"
"Yes. You are all that remains."
"How?"
"This was a bloody a war. You survived."
"I am the last of the UniCorps."
"The very last. And you shall inherit their power."
====================================================================================================
With that Quillan Noble of Earth, last of the UniCorps, Agent Zero was bombarded with the power of a thousand dead soldiers; soldiers who before this battle would have given their life for him. These brave men and women had given their life for something. But for what? Even now, Quillan was struggling to remember what this whole war had been about. How ironic.
=====================================================================================================
Agent Zero was hurdling towards the Earth at unimaginable speeds. A normal man's body would have disintegrated beyond all recognition by now. The heat would've been unbearable but as the Space Warrior awoke, he felt nothing. The dark matter coursing through his body made him more than a man, more than just a living being. In fact, in his mind, he routinely described himself as an entity. He laughed this off time and time again, trying to mask the fact that he was coming to the realization that this same power that made him a force for good was slowly and methodically dehumanizing him.
THUD.
He landed in the center of a large crater. Or was it his landing that had caused the crater? He was in no state to figure that out now. Before he was even able to consciously realize his present state of nudity, his subconscious summoned the Unicorps armor to cover every inch of his muscular body. He wondered what the people staring at him might be thinking. Were they afraid? Were they even surprised? How could they be? This planet was full of superheroes and villains who did battle everyday. Surely a naked man falling from space was nothing to get too riled up about. But as the people began running away it was abundantly clear that he had to make haste and find shelter. He ran, still a little too dizzy to attempt flying, until he reached what looked to be like an empty warehouse.
He sat down now, finally able to appreciate the immensity of this all. For the first time since he was an infant, he was back....home. Agent Zero looked down at his forearm. He could see his veins bulging and contorting. Something strange was going on. Was it true what The Controller said? was he really the last remnant of the Unicorps. If so, the power of all of the fallen would have been heaped on him. Was this why he was in so much....
so much....
so much....
PAIN.
Quillan Noble of Earth, last of the Unicorps, Agent Zero to his knees before the pain caused him to completely black out. The last image he saw was that of three men, weapons at their sides walking into the building and looking at him with ill intentions. All this power, yet so helpless....How ironic.
