Martian Manhunter : Denial (My DC Film Universe)

My ideas for a possible future Martian Manhunter film. Like my other film ideas, I've set it out of all continuities and instead just chose to set it in my own film universe (They will all eventually connect). For my other films set in my desired version of the DC film universe, see my lists with (Possible Future Film) in the title. For reference:

  • Due to being unable to recall his past and thought suspicious by the Justice League as a whole, Martian Manhunter was dropped from the team. Now going solo, J'onn is suffering short but violent flashbacks of his past. J'onzz must piece together his past, cope with being shunned from the League and come to terms with his tragic history...

  • The Department of Extranormal Operations is a government agency who monitor superhuman activity. The D.E.O. is a rival of A.R.G.U.S. due to their differing methods when it comes to keeping Metahumans under control, as the D.E.O. is much less trusting. The D.E.O. is led by Director Bones who reports to the head of the D.E.O., whose identity is classified to everyone. After Martian Manhunter is dropped from the Justice League after a fist-fight with Aquaman and suspicions around his past, the D.E.O. consider J'onn a potential threat and start monitoring him and try to bring him in for questioning.

  • Mr. Bones (Real Name-Classified) is the director of the D.E.O. and a mutant from birth due to a genetic experiment in the womb which left him with invisible skin/organs which is also lethal to the touch. Bones has a shady past that very few know about (Martian Manhunter being one of them, although he has yet to realise it). Bones has a general disliking for meta-humans as they are "blessed" with powers whereas his are a burden. However, Bones is not against working with them if push comes to shove but is neither a recurrent ally nor a persistent foe to them but says that he will always keep his word. Bones utilises some shadowy methods and assigns several agents to monitor every move of the Martian Manhunter.

  • [Seen in Flashbacks, visions and mentioned many times] Ma'alefa'ak was the twin brother of J'onn J'onzz and a major criminal on Mars known for committing "Mind-Rape". In response to this, the Martian Assembly stripped him of his telepathic abilities and wiped his memory. Now believing himself to be a freak without telepathy, Ma'alefa'ak decided to destroy the Martians for possessing a great power he could never have. Now also immune to the Martian's weakness of fire, Ma'alefa'ak became a great scientist in order to design a plague which would cause the Martians' bodies to set on fire when they use telepathy and would also be passed along through that way. Planning on escaping to neighbouring Earth before his brother could apprehend him, Ma'alefa'ak was confronted by his twin and the two engaged in a violent duel in a Martian temple. J'onzz managed to escape the collapsing temple but presumed his brother to have perished.

  • A high-ranking and highly-skilled D.E.O. agent, Cameron Chase had to raise herself after her father (A small-time hero who worked with Martian Manhunter) was murdered by Dr. Trap. Chase's deep hatred for superheroes stemmed from this event and she blames Martian Manhunter for failing to save her father and his teammate. Cameron is assigned by Director Bones to monitor the Martian's every move. After Chase confronts J'onzz, believing he was about to attack someone, Martian Manhunter reveals his struggle with his past to her and she becomes a reluctant ally in helping him piece his memory together.

  • [Seen only in a few scenes although she plays a pivotal role] A Green Martian scientist who escaped to Earth after the destruction of the Martian people, Cay'an lived in hiding for years before coming out to try to kill J'onn J'onzz who she believed could have stopped the plague. Cay'an's reemergence helps piece J'onn's mind together but she manages to escape before he can completely stop her.

  • Feeling that J'onn was unjustly removed from the JL, Hal meets up with him and helps him Melissa Erdel in order to get information on his arrival to Earth.

  • The daughter of Saul Erdel, Melissa helped her father bring D'Kay D'razz to Earth. The incident left her scarred on her head and her father forbade her to work with him anymore in case she was killed as she was all he had left. Melissa witnessed Martian Manhunter's arrival on Earth and saw her father die of a heart attack in front of her. Melissa was later sent to a care home where she was approached by Martian Manhunter who had took on the form of her father. Melissa told him about the experiments before she passes away in her sleep.

  • Former Special agent for the military and now a high-ranking member of the D.E.O. and head of the D.M.A. (A branch off the D.E.O.).

  • [Seen only in a few scenes] D.E.O. agent in league with Dr. Trap, assigned to watch over Martian Manhunter. Attempts to kill the Martian but is stopped by Cameron Chase.

  • Department of Metahuman Affairs, a branch off the D.E.O. led by Sarge Steel.

  • [Seen in Flashbacks only] A superhero team pre-dating the Justice League, the Justice Experience was a group doomed from the start made up of small-time heroes (Including Martian Manhunter and the acrobat, A.K.A. Walter Chase, father of Cameron Chase). The team had trouble getting off the ground as being small-time heroes they lacked the money. Finally managing to become a successful team, the Justice Experience gained enemies in the form of the House of Pain. During a shootout with them, an innocent bystander was killed. The civilian's boyfriend swore revenge, took up the identity of Dr. Trap and began taking revenge on the team. Fearing for their lives, the team disbanded and all suffered awful fates. Acrobat was murdered by Trap, Mr. Action drank himself to death after his arm was bitten off by Trap, Song Bird committed suicide, Major Flashback was driven insane and the Manx completely disappeared. The last one standing, Martian Manhunter was blamed for the death of her father by Cameron Chase.

  • [Seen in Flashbacks only] The scientist who brought D'Kay D'razz and J'onn J'onzz to Earth, Erdel died of a heart attack right after transporting J'onzz.

  • [Seen in Flashbacks only] The wife of J'onn J'onzz, M'yri'ah J'onzz died during a fire plague which wiped out nearly all of the Martian people. Upon his arrival to Earth, J'onzz forgot his memories of Mars and got regular visions of his wife and daughter screaming (Although he didn't know who they were at the time).

  • [Seen in Flashbacks only] After his girlfriend was caught in crossfire between the Justice Experience and the House of Pain, Larry Trap became Dr. Trap and set out to take revenge on the Justice Experience and the House of Pain. Trap killed every member of the House of Pain before killing the Acrobat and biting off Mr. Action's arm.

  • [Seen in flashbacks only] A Green Martian serial killer and Ma'alefa'ak's lover who was transported to Earth by Dr. Erdel, D'kay injured Melissa Erdel before escaping their lab.
