    History

    Character Bio

Presumably escaped from occupied Nazi Germany, Dr. Morgan Erskine, under the pretense that she's a scientist in the employ of the United States Army, was a Sorceress who utilized her knowledge of both magic and the science of her time to create the perfect Super Soldier to turn the tide of World War II.

    Creating the Soldier Supreme

Morgan Erskine first appears when an army officer knocks on the door of her private quarters. He informs her that a candidate for the Super Soldier program is being prepped in the testing room. On the other side of the door, Dr. Erskine tells the officer to wait a few more moments as she's in the middle of a "sensitive experiment...for science!" In truth, Dr. Erskine is secretly a Sorceress performing an Arcane ritual. Erskine is levitating a foot off the ground in a cross-legged sitting position where a glowing green Pentagram is etched into the floor. She's wearing a short dress-like double slitted tunic that shows off most of her legs along with her bare feet, eyes shut in a deep trance, and the palms of her raised hands glowing an ominous green light. Around the Pentagram are animal entrails placed in bowls and small candles of green flame hover around Morgan Erskine weightlessly.

Once her ritual was complete, Erskine, in her strict scientist cover, enters the testing room where her candidate, Stephen Rogers, awaits strapped to a vertical slab in the center. Dr. Erskine had previously met with Stephen sometime before the procedure. She promised she'd make Stephen the best soldier in America, if her serum didn't kill him first. She asks Stephen if he's ready to begin. With his permission, Erskine administers the contents of her syringe. Noticing that the needle isn't piercing his Adam's Apple, she presses two fingers against it. With her fingers glowing with her dark magic, Dr. Erskine mutters an incantation under her breath that allows her to inject Stephen with the serum easily.

    Death and Legacy

After injecting Stephen with the serum, Dr. Erskine gains a number of disapproving looks from the officers and scientists in the room. As it appears that Stephen's slumped over head and state of vegetation looked like another test subject gone to waste. Seconds later, Stephen comes to and instantly breaks free from the slab, ripping off his bonds with immense strength. While everyone, Dr. Erskine included, was shocked to the latter's success, one of the MP soldiers pulls out a gun. This MP instantly blows his cover as a Nazi spy when he cries out "mein Gott!" and starts to open fire on Stephen. However, Stephen deflects each bullet fired with the magic shields he unwittingly conjured. Unable to kill "the Ubermensch" the Nazi spy turns his gun on a panicked Dr. Erskine, killing her with a single shot in the name of the Fuhrer.

Fueled by rage over the death of the woman who endowed him the power to make a difference, Stephen attacks the spy with a fist imbued with powerful magic as he blows the spy up with a single punch. With the demise of the Nazi spy and Dr. Erskine assassinated, along with Stephen reeling with the power he now has, the Army officials promptly destroyed all of the Dr. Erskine's magical belongings in a fire, furious over being kept in the dark about her true nature. In spite of Dr. Erskine's secrets, the officials were pleased with her results as Captain Stephen Rogers would honor Morgan's work in fighting the Nazis as "The Soldier Supreme".

    Creation

Morgan Erskine was created by Gerry Duggan and Adam Kubert and appears only in Infinity Wars: Soldier Supreme #1

    Notes

This iteration of Dr. Erskine is a dimensional warp between Abraham Erskine and The Ancient One.

    Powers and Abilities

    Arcane Magic

Morgan Erskine was a master Sorceress first and foremost and has a collective knowledge of timeless practice of the Mystic Arts. Her spells appeared to be profane in nature. Morgan's ritual for the Super Soldier Serum required the use of sacrificed animal entrails placed in bowls around a glowing Pentagram, which covered the floor of her private chambers and window.

    Levitation

Morgan had the ability to defy gravity with her magic. When performing the ritual for the Super Soldier Serum, her body was hovering a foot off the floor whilst in a focused trance. This appears to be done in a cross-legged sitting position, akin to Zen Meditation.

    Glamour Magic

Similar to shapeshifting, Morgan could magically change her appearance to those around her as part of her charade. Her actual look is a youthful woman with fair skin, short dark blonde hair in a pixie cut, and long shapely legs. But when posing as a scientist, Morgan used her magic to look like a stern, middle-aged bespectacled modest woman with visible age lines and brown hair slicked to the side. The only thing that doesn't seem change is her distinct tassel necklace.

    Master Scientist

This version of Dr. Erskine was also adept in the use of science. Like Abraham, Morgan possessed a genius-level intellect in biochemistry, albeit combined with her dark magic.

    Weaknesses

    Mortality

In spite of being an accomplished Sorceress with mastery of Arcane magic, Morgan Erskine was still a mortal woman and not invincible. She was shot by a Nazi enforcer's gun, killing her almost instantly.
