History
Mathayus was an Akkadian whose father Ashur died. He trained for the Black Scorpions by Sargon. The rest of his race were killed off by Memnon and a sorcerer known as Magus. He and his half-brother, Jesup found access to Memnon's sorceress, Cassandra. At Memnon's kingdom, Mathayus took Cassandra as a hostage until he is ready to defeat Memnon. He defeated Memnon and became a king. However, his wife, Cassandra died of infection. Mathayus was forced as a mercenary to control 3 armies. He now became known as the Scorpion King. Mathayus led a seven year campaign to defeat Thebes. His campaign failed and was forced to live at the desert of Ahm Shere. Mathayus made a pact with Anubis to defeat Thebes and build a gold pyramid so his soul can be sold. He ate a scorpion so Anubis can convert the desert into an oasis. Mathayus also has control of Anubis' army. Mathayus finally finished his task and now serves Anubis. In the year 1933 (Year of the Scorpion), he was reawakened as a scorpion-human hybrid. He was killed by Rick O'Connell with the Spear of Anubis so he and his friends can go to Hell.
