Fist of Vengeance
Moon Knight and Punisher battle Flag-Smasher and ULTIMATUM in Chuck Dixon and Sal Velluto's Called to Heaven, the second part of Moon Knight's Acts of Vengeance crossover.
I need to start by pointing out something that really confused me. I don't know if it was the case with the last issue and I never noticed, but for some bizarre reason this issue is writen from the perspective of the Punisher! All the caption boxes and inner-monologues are from the Punisher. The thing is, this just makes it feel like a Punisher story which happens to star Moon Knight.
But with that said, this again is perfectly serviceable. There's actually a pretty good fight between Moon Knight and Flag-Smasher in this and, as far as two characters I have no affinity for, this presents both characters well. Also, we don't have to see that bizarre Jason Todd kid that is following Moon Knight around (although he apparently ignored Moon Knight's orders to go home - wuh oh!). Even though I don't like the characters, Moon Knight and Punisher is an interesting team-up and the two work together well.
These two Moon Knight issues haven't exactly been amazing but they have been readable and entertaining - even to someone who doesn't like the central character or his guest star. As I said last issue, this story honestly doesn't tie-in much with Acts of Vengeance and the only really link is a few lines here and there about other superheroes being at war. I guess pitting Moon Knight and Flag-Smasher against each other, even if purely by coincidence rather than plan in-universe, still fits the theme of the crossover.
