    First published in Le Journal de Tintin between September 16, 1955 and November 17, 1956, then in album form by Le Lombard in 1958 and finally by Casterman in 1966.

    Alix a accepté la mission de reconduire Oribal dans son royaume occupé par les Parthes. Dans le trésor que le souverain ramène dans son pays il y a l'emblême même de sa légitimité, la tiare d'Oribal 1er. Seuls les souverains qui arrivent à coiffer la tiare sans défaillir sont dignes de règner. Mais lors d'une embuscade, le trésor est dérobé... et la tiare disparaît. Oribal arrivera-t-il à remonter sur le trône? Sera-t-il reconnu comme souverain légitime ?

    This volume sees Jacques Martin shifting his artistic style to be more in line with the ligne claire style seen in Tintin and others that were popular in the 1950s. It is more cartoony than the earlier works and had not yet matured to the masterful work seen from Les Legiones Perdues, but it is more advanced than the earlier adventures. What I like about this one is that the Parthian horsemen would be recognized by military and classical historians as Parthian horsemen while the Germans and Gau...
