I want to ask U if the ryan reynolds green lantern be in the same universe as man of steel for the justice league movie?

I agree, the GL movie sucked but ryan reynolds was a good hal jordan, they don't have time to reboot him and for GL 2 they can change script writer and stuff. maybe even change actor to bradley cooper (if he isn't going to be flash)

P.S- PLEASE DON'T START WITH THE "WE WANT JOHN STEWART" BECAUSE THERE IS NO WAY THE CAN PUT HIM IN A MOVIE WITH HIS ORIGIN STORY (search for his origin story and then you'll see why)

I hope so, because to reboot the GL franchise after one film would be ridiculous. Ryan wasn't a HORRIBLE Hal, he just suffered from a bad script. Make a Green Lantern 2: Rise of the Sinestro Corps. And actually put some f*cking effort into it. Also, bring Amanda Waller back, she could be the catalyst for researching all of the ''heroes'' popping up. Give the films some continuity.

They shouldn't use it. Just reboot it after Justice League. As for the lantern, they could reboot it with John Stewart, giving him Hal Jordan's origin. The problem with using Hal in a reboot is that GL sucked. People recognize Hal as the Lantern from that movie. If they use John, it could also diversify the League.

I'm sorry, but that's just ridiculous. Why would you change John's entire origin just to put a black person in the League? Hal deserves to be one of the founding member, forget about diversity for diversity's sake.

Just recast GL and keep the initial film as loose canon. That way everyone knows the origin of the GLs, how the rings work, etc... but they don't have to worry about sequels or reboots.

DC has their tone for their universe and the green lantern film contradicts all of that. Just reboot it.

@the_stegman: I don't want diversity for diversity's sake. I would prefer Hal in the movie, but if they reboot it he may be linked to the 2011 version too much. I only wrote what I wrote about the origin and Stewart because in the first post it says no John Stewart just because of his origin, which is a very idiotic reason. I was just offering a way to get around that.

I REALLY think Hal should be in the JL movie, it's about the new 52 so I think that justice league 1-6 could be a GREAT scrip idea!

I think Reynolds and his GL could fit. The problem is, the Green Lantern universe was decimated in that movie. Parallax is kind of the darkest shadow in the GL universe, and youre telling me he was defeated LIKE THAT?! And if you keep Reynolds, youre kind of forced to acknowledge that continuity or else it gets too confusing for everyone.

So as much as I like Ryan and think he was perfectly cast (nobody else I would have cast over him personally), I say let him go, keep Hal though, full reboot, that just SKIMS the origin and pre-Green Lantern stuff, and jumps right into a good story. Sinestro was also perfectly cast, so he's another sad victim of this reboot, but he DEFINITELY needs to be a good guy in the reboot, and even Hal's stern mentor, so his fall is more meaningful.

I really think that they should've had Hal become a Green Lantern and Sinestro start his corps for the first movie. A green Lantern vs Yellow Lantern battle would've been far more entertaining.
