Being hunted
The story here carries on from the start of the previous one, and for those that skipped the #0 issue, they will find everything here except the talk about how great the series is. The story here is good enough, but one thing which was a little disappointing overall was the switch of artists. I don’t usually make too much of a big deal about art, but here the story starts off with a lot of beautiful art, some of it inspired by Michelangelo’s work in the Sistine Chapel, and it is a shame that it didn’t carry on through the remainder. This story is strongest when it maintains fewer ties to the supernatural and more to scientific aspect of what is occurring. In this way it is a bit front heavy, as though there is a promise of something which it could deliver on but yet kind of veers off in the wrong direction. For all of the hype in the #0 issue though, at least the writer here seems to have a firm grasp on what she is trying to do, and it still makes for an entertaining experience, if not an overly memorable one.
