    Struck by a golfball and killed, Dick Merrivale's murder proved on account of IOUs he held against Frank Chester. An accomplished golfer and Dick's murderer, Chester denies involvement.

    When Mr. Merrivale's widow, Janet Merrivale, discovers that Dick's bank account is low for the successful businessman, she enlists the aid of the debutant detective Penny Parker. With her assistant Pug, she exposes Chester's murder and stolen documents.
