These two thugs are the last vestiges of their lineage. Formerly, they lived in a rich valley of Birkanie. One night, when they were still brats, Grimoire had a dream. He started screaming like a pig being slaughtered, stirring up his whole family. He spoke of a great black cloud, a cloud that devours flesh. He wanted the whole village to flee. The hunters got angry, called him a bedwetter and the females ordered him to go back to bed. But Ayraak believed him and the two brothers fled. They ran into the night, randomly, more terrified than ever. The next day, everyone in the tribe was dead. Their bodies were shapeless, gray and withered. They looked like piles of wet ashes scattered by a good rinse. The clan had been exterminated. They never knew what happened and they didn't try to find out.

As long as Ayraak can remember, his brother has always looked out for him. After the destruction of their valley, it was thanks to him that he had his daily subsistence. Sometimes Grimoire worked, more often he stole. More than once, he was surprised and ended up with a nasty injury. Three years later, the Khan caught them stealing the company's supply of plums. That's how they entered the Iron Fang company, with punches in the face. They hunkered down at the commissary, until they were big enough to join the troop.

Plume thinks that Grimoire has the gift, and that he could learn to use it, if he were initiated. But he never wanted to hear about it. Once, Ayraak insisted and ended up pissing him off. And no one wants to see Grimoire pissed off. So, they all shut up, even if they're itching to figure out what's wrong with his noggin. Grimoire took over the annals of the Iron Fang Company after the death of Lettré.

He takes into account the dead and the living, the miseries of each and the great as well as the small exploits of all.

For the orcs of Birkanie, it is important to know that they are part of a long tradition. Grimoire has always been good with his head. He doesn't often let himself get carried away by anger, which is why he comes across as a strange and slightly twisted lousy person. He thinks before hitting or shouting, and even if, for an orc, this is not really a quality, his brother Ayraak alias Cap'taine has learned to listen to him. Most of the time anyway!
