THE GOOD: Doug Mahnke does great work on this series. I really though that the facial expressions were really strong in this issue. I also really liked the backgrounds because they are very other worldy, but then we go to something that looks a little like the Justice League watchtower. I think that the story is leading up to something huge. I really liked seeing that there is a plan for the Green Lanterns to stay and try to reform the guardians. I also really liked seeing Black Hand doing what ...

Opening remarks:Truth be told, I’ve been looking forward to this issue with some excitement ever since finishing issue 10, even though I’d all but forgotten the Guardians’ diabolical plan during the course of this series.Likes:There’s a lot to like about both this issue and the series so far as a whole. I’m taken with how sharp and precise the pencils are and how the colors blend seamlessly together with everything else. As usual, the story and art complement each other quite well and make for a...

A Life In the Death Family 1

This issue has an outstanding cover. A perfect representation of the essence of Black Hand, and creepy to boot.I don't know what to say here really. It progresses at a rate that I've come to consistently expect from Geoff Johns. I'm not saying the events were predictable, but the pacing was. This isn't a bad thing though, Goeff Johns' Green Lantern pacing is generally excellent. He develops Sinestro some more, advances the overall saga, and keeps the status quo moving. If definitely seems like he...

    Can't Keep a Black Hand Down 0

Sinestro, currently a member of the Green Lantern Corps, and Hal Jordan, a former Corps member now powered by Sinestro's ring, have finally discovered the secret of the Indigo Tribe. However, Black Hand has managed to escape and Hal and Sinestro must work together again to track him down. But what is Black Hand's true purpose?Geoff Johns has finally said what he wanted to say about the Indigo Tribe and now leads us into a small scale sequel to Blackest Night. Green Lantern fans have long wondere...

    Rise! 0

The first part of "The Revenge of Black Hand" was very well written; from his never ending creepy actions, to Sinestro's batcave, to the quick peek at what's to come, it was a very enjoyable issue. The ink work made the art somewhat weird, though; especially the Black Hand scenes. Please check my mini-review of Green Lantern #11 here:http://bit.ly/QkhK4rComments and feedback are always welcome!...

After a sequence of really entertaining story arcs, the series takes a step back here, if only to catch it breath.  In addition to the primary threats against the two heroes in this series, there has also been the lingering ones with the Guardians, the Book of the Black and Black Hand.  As usual what can be expected from Johns is almost pure perfection in the scripting and characterizations on this title.  What is lacking here is really nothing, just that every issue cannot be a pulse pounding t...
