    History

The Ghostbusters started when a group of unemployed scientists had the unique idea of creating a ghost-removal service. The company operates out of a firehouse in New York City the group now are famous around the globe, especially in New York. The Ghostbusters deal with a whole host of different paranormal problems, from taking care of a poltergeist, to dealing with demi-gods and demons.

The Ghostbusters consist of four members: Ray Stantz (The heart and leader of the Ghostbusters), Peter Venkman (The public spokesperson), Winston Zeddemore (The most balanced Ghostbuster), Egon Spengler (The snobby scientist) and Janine Melnitz the Ghostbusters loyal secretary.

    Tools of the Trade

Muon Trap: a containment vessel that traps and secures the spook/spectre/ghost until it can in a small mobile container. The trap is deployed once the entity is held in the proton beam via Neutron Wand. The trap is opened beneath the subject and is then pulled into the secure holding vessel.

Proton Pack: a cyclotron particle accelerator attached to an alice frame that discharges protons in order to neutralize negatively charged electromagnetic radiation given off by ghosts. The beam of protons is discharged via a Neurtron Wand also known as a Particle Thrower. The beam in a sense "lassos" the spook/spectre/ghost to be held until a Muon Trap is in place.

Ecto Containment Unit: once a ghost has been dragged into a Muon beam with a proton stream, the trap is placed in the Containment Unit for permanent storage of the beast. This is ghost jail. (light is green, trap is clean)

Slime Blower: these cannons spray positively charged Mood Slime. These are useful for curing innocent civilians who are possessed by evil spirits.

PKE Meter: a scanner for paranormal readings. This the earliest and most basic tool used by the team to find spooks.

Giga Meter: a more advanced scanner, perhaps better at scanning ectoplasm and psycho-reactive substances.

Ecto Goggles: a pair goggles for readings similar to PKE but keeping hands free for handling the neutron wand and walkie-talkie. They are typically only used by Ray, in Ghostbusters Aftlerlife they are able to take polaroids.

    Vehicles

Ecto-1: the first basic vehicle built by Dr. Stantz.

Ecto-1A: a second 1950's hearse was bought and upgraded by Ray when the company made its comeback in 1989. It has more advanced gadgetry on top than the original and is instantly distinguished from the previous design due to the 'CAUTION' stripes designs.

Ecto-2: a large auxiliary bus to hold more Ghostbusters recruits.
