Furious Fist of the Drunken Monkey
Furious fist is creator Rich Stahnke's first attempt at creating his own comic book. The art is in black and white, but doesn't take away from the story. Stahnke's art is simple and he has some problems with keeping the facial expressions of his main characters the same, but overall not bad, just not much detail.
The main story deals with the title character, Chip. Chip is a talking ape who apparently likes to drink to excess and can't keep a job. He comes across a dying alien, an obvious homage to Green Lantern, and takes a power ring from the alien's severed hand. After finding a bar that will serve him, he discovers that the ring holds a power gauntlet and he attempts to fight an evil doer known as the Gene Gnome and his band of "homo animals"(mix of human and animal).
Overall, not bad for a first time creator. With improvements to his artwork and storytelling, Stahnke could have a fun book to read.
