Having to copy & paste a signature onto every post seems more troublesome than anything.

Because they need something to stand out since they're so bland.

The first user I can remember that started doing the sig was Billy Batson. Not only does Billy do the "BB" but every post also needs to be bolded to really be special.

I don't see why. On another forum I've been to, signing your posts with your name is actually against the rules because its really dumb. Your name is above your post, it doesn't have to be after it too.
