Well, they all suck, so does that count?
Linkin Park's first couple of albums were decent, but then they stopped caring and just went the metallica route of formulaic music that sells.
My Chemical Romance and 30 Seconds to Mars are very good at what they are, angsty ridden emo boy bands for 13 year old boys and girls who don't quite yet have it in them to seek out metal. What they are not, is good bands.
Linkin Park. I never got into the other two bands. Black parade is the only song I know and like from mcr and I don't know any from thirty seconds to mars.

Yes, because what music you enjoy correlates somehow with age, sex, or "having it in you".
Judging purely from this comment what you have in you is a large stick lodged up your butt.
@rd189: you called MCR and TSTM "angsty ridden emo boy bands for 13 year old boys and girls who don't quite yet have it in them to seek out metal. What they are not, is good bands." This is why you no nothing, jimmy eat world or american football would be an emo band. MCR are NOT emo. they are also not, nor have ever been, or even said, they are metal

Well of course they're not emo. It's not 1982 in Washington DC. They are emo, pre-packed wanna buy shock rockers who wear mostly black clothing and eye liner, sing songs loaded with teenage angst cliches (like my girlfriend left me for the quaterback, my parents think im gay, kids at school beat me up for dressing like a girl, etc). The primary demographic of emo bands, such as My Chemical Romance, are typically in the 13-17 age group, white, suburban, likely middle class, mostly girls but a few boys too, and typically shop at hot topic. These bands often present themselves as edgy, or hx4, but would be laughed out of the building (or beaten to a pulp) at a typical metal concerts. They are a fad, as most of their fans will either progress into heavy metal, expand into pop, or move on to hip hop.
@rd189: how can you be emo but not emo, and regarding emo this is a statment from geraad way on emo "Basically, it's never been accurate to describe us. "Emo bands were being booked while we were touring with Christian metal bands because no one would book us on tours. I think emo is f*cking garbage, it's bullsh!t. I think there's bands that unfortunately we get lumped in with that are considered emo and by default that starts to make us emo. All I can say is anyone actually listening to the records, put the records next to each other and listen to them and there’s actually no similarities. I think emo’s a pile of sh! T". how are they shock rock the only thing remotely shocking about them is there make up. Your also making pretty baseless stereotypes, i could say all metalheads wear dog collers and are music elitist. Were have MCR ever represented themselves have "edgy", and Were do you get there trying to metal.
@kendell: Lrn 2 quote and paragraph plz.
Second, At no point did I ever say MCR is metal. Limp Bizkit is more metal. I gave you my view of what they are, and like it or not, the majority of the buying public agrees with me. I could care less what the singer has to say, because, stereotypes have a basis in reality.
I forced myself, (VERY, VERY PAINFULLY) to watch this. Everything about this screams emo to me. Angsty lyrics, black clothing, simplistic musical accents. Screams the sterotype to me.
@rd189: first off the video is a sequel to welcome to the black parade.
Second, Angsty lyrics, black clothing, simplistic musical accents, are NOT emo and what the general majority believes means nothing, the lead leader singer doesn't even like the genre.
MCR are not emo, point blank.
"stereotypes have a basis in reality." No, just no
@kendell: riiiiiiigggghhhhht. Ok then. Try some Eluviete, you might enjoy it. Call Of The Mountains or Thousandfold
My Chemical Romance falls a ways lower in my eyes from Linkin Park and 30 Seconds to Mars, but I still enjoy them.
Linkin Park, followed very closely by 30 Seconds to Mars, and then My Chemical Romance.
