Who's more realistic: Batman or Captain America?
Which versions? Comic? Movie? Just in general?
I would say Batman but he can be a PIS magnet at times.
Something like a Super serum sounds like something could exist in the future (hopefully I'll be dead before it's invented) so I suppose I'll choose CA. I only know him from movie stuff though but he doesn't seem ridiculously superhuman.
@theexile285: in general

Ah ok. Then still Cap for me.
Batman. His gadgets are absurd, but at least he wasn't given some fictional super serum to get his abilities.
how does "fictional" make it realistic?

I'm saying that it makes it unrealistic.
@allstarsuperman: I hate when people bring this up. Steve was still willing to train and fight and willing to die simply to help people.
It wasn't his fault someone offered him a way out of below mediocrity and a way into his dream.
Neither are realistic. A man cannot go from a 90 pound Asthmatic wealking to the peak of human perfection by some super serum from the 40s where it conveniently just happened to suit said person's physiology so perfectly, that his body suffers no long term side effect whatsoever.
Similarly, a man cannot learn 127 different forms martial arts, condition his body to such a level of perfection that he can bench press 1000 pounds and still be nimble enough to perform complex acrobatic moves, learn about a dozen scientific disciplines in a fraction of the time required to master even one, have access to gadgets that would make the MI6 blush, etc
Both of them have something realistic and unrealistic. Cap has SSS witch doesn't exist but Batman is ready for anything and everything while he still fights crazy mother&@%#^*s like the Joker. As a character,Cap looks more realistic to me.
@jedixman: Cap's serum isn't too far-fetched:
Scientist reveals how Captain America can exist in the real word
@ganon15: I know. I wanted to say that but I think I have proved my point that Cap is more realistic character with the things I already mentioned in my comment.
What billionaire playboy could fight crime in the middle of the night needing only 4 hours to sleep while knowing every single martial art being a genius , great at perception an accomplished detective , while also making their own technology ? Cap is more grounded

I mean, it's probably more likely that a single super serum could be invented than all of Batman's ridiculous gadgets.
Plus the amount of time it would take to master everything Batman has and fight crime is impossible. And I'm pretty sure you couldn't fight at peak human on regular 4 hours of sleep, as stated above.
I'd have to say Captain America, it's more realistic that somebody would invent a super serum, than Batman being good at everything and still having time.
Well, let's breakdown the facts. A brief analysis of both characters is important for understanding this.
We'll start with Batman. Batman is a MASTER of practically every martial art that exists. He is a multi-billionaire, with a completely underground base of operations and intimate knowledge in multiple fields of science. This man spends millions of his company's funds on batmobiles, batarangs, grappling hooks and whatever else he has available.
Captain America is a government employee. He knows 3 martial arts, is a master strategist and has military experience. Cryogenics and genetic manipulation are both feasible fields of science which are responsible for the legend of Steve Rogers.
Which do you think makes more sense?
Batman is literally a bigger chuck Norris with money and knows multiple fields of science while Cap is a man who was 90ibs and magically took a serum that allowed to be the peakest human and heal faster , oh and the serum magically kept his body from dying when he was trapped in the ice berg smh , ill for sure take batman
Bats and its not close. Cap took steroids to get where he at!! Chump!!
That is a gross and inaccurate generalization of the character. Cap was always an intensely determined guy with a drive to do good no matter the cost. Which was why he was chosen for the serum in the first place. As a matter of fact, two of his defining traits ie his valor and his willpower have nothing to do with the serum at all.
So if you honestly think he is just some steroid jacked chump, you either have never read a Captain america comic in your life or are just lowballing the character, for whatever reason.
And again, what makes Batman so realistic again? You honestly think a real life human being can master over a hundred martial arts, possess the physical conditioning of a bodybuilder, master acrobat and sprinter all in one, become a polymath in multiple fields etc all before reaching the age of 35?
@brucerogers: Blah blah blah!! I don't care about none of that trash!! He took a steroid and that's the end of that!! Don't reply back!! You're blocked!!
There's no such thing as a super soldier but regular, powerless humans exist. Batman's more realistic by that alone really.
Initially it was Batman, going back to their origin days and it wasnt even close. Now its still Batman but not by much.
@jayc1324: So youre saying that a man can have time to master multiple fields of science, condition his body to the point where he can bench 1000 pounds and leg press 2 tons, be a master acrobatics, master every martial art ever existed, be the worlds greatest detective, and can accomplish this all by the age of 35? OK.
BTW, scientist are close to inventing a SS serum.
@normanbates: No, but they can't get shots that make them have super powered physical abilities either.
