I'm thinking about dropping Thor: God of Thunder. I thought the first story arc was awesome but issues 13 and 14 did nothing for me. Also, I'm already buying too many comics.
What Series Are You About To Drop And Why?
None.
meh, deadpool after good bad ugly. superman unchained after issue 9. possible Earth 2 if the focus changes from Jay Garrick to Batman.
- Justice League of America: I'm not particularly interested in the upcoming Justice League of Canada version. I will continue reading it for now since Martian Manhunter is one of my favorite characters and I'm interested on seeing more of Stargirl, which is a character I have very little experiecne with, but after Forever Evil I'm probably done with this title.
- Batman: Dropping it for Manapul and Booch's Detective Comics but I'll probably collect all of Zero Year first.
- Fantastic Four and FF: These series have been losing some steam lately and if I'm not impressed by their new direction I'll drop them in favor of Hickman's new series and Inhuman.
Possibly the Bounce, the story is dragging way too much, there's obviously a particular direction it's heading in and a particular destination, but I'm not sure it'll be worth it once it gets there, I don' even feel that curious about what it is. I'll probably give it to the end of the year, then I'm going to shove it up my dog's ass and set it on fire.
Eternal Warrior after the first arc if Trevor Hairsine is still doing the art. It would be the first time I've dropped a book for the art alone. I just don't like his style and faces look terrible at medium and farther distances. I can typically look past "not my favorite art" when the story is good, but somehow a seed has been planted in my brain now and it becomes more irritating to the point of distraction.
@maccyd: I tried to reply but accidentally flagged your comment.
Anyway, I feel like I shouldn't drop it, but I also feel that I'm forcing myself to like it more than I do.
@xwraith: Not up to Valiant scratch, is it? How does it compare to Shadowman (typically the underdog in the Valiant line-up).
@captainhoopla I feel the same about Greg Land.
@maccyd: It's not that it isn't as good, it just didn't connect with me as much as I thought it would.
And I agree with captainhoopla on Hairsine's art. It's really scratchy.
I'm goingl drop The Flash to follow Manapul to Detective.
I'm going to drop Superman Unchained for Paks Action.
Dropping Supergirl and All New X-Men to make room for Black Science and Southern Bastards.
Second thought I'll probably keep Supergirl because a few minis I'm currently buying are almost over. I'll probably drop Guardians of the Galaxy also; when I buy it, it's usually the lastbook I read and I'm not really that into it so bye bye.
I don't know if I'm about to drop any series yet but books I'm currently thinking of dropping are:
- Batgirl (Whenever Gail leaves again, I might drop it)
- Justice League Dark (probably going to drop this because of the Blight story)
- Teen Titans (Lobdel - only have been reading this so long bc I love the 3rd gen characters)
- JLA's Vibe (It's a decent book but it's not one of my favorite. Just a nice pace away from the norm)
- Larfleeze (it's not really doing it for me but I love the entire Lantern mythos so I might keep it)
- Thor: God of Thunder (1st arc was amazing but 2nd arc so far has not interested me)
- Captain America (Kind of already dropped this)
- Iron Man (just because eh)
- Eternal Warrior (this one just doesn't interest me much like the other Valiant books do)
- Shadow Man (love the characters but the writing doesn't compel me. will probably keep this though)
- Captain Midnight (great book but I cant get "he's basically cap america" out of my head)
I know this seems like a lot of books to drop but I'm reading WAY too many.
I dropped Green Lantern as it wasn't doing its job to keep me interested. I'll maybe do the same with Larfleeze, but still not 100% sure. I can say that I'm liking Larfleeze a bit more than Green Lantern.
I've considered dropping Legends of the Dark Knight but haven't been able to. I guess I just like Batman too much.
i dropped GL after Johns left. but i want to give Lights Out a chance so i'm gonna get them in trade
Avengers, well technically I've already dropped it because Marvel are taking the book in the complete opposite direction to what it should be.
I feared they were trying to turn them in the JLA, now I know they are trying to make them the JLA and I'm not one bit interested in it.
Book that's teetering on the Brink of dropping right now is Guardians of the Galaxy, again for the reasons of becoming "Too DC" in style, this isn't neccessarly a "Bad" thing, but Marvels big sell was that the characters could be related to and oft delt with real world issues, now they are running in a completely wrong direction and becoming detatched from what made Marvel...well Marvel.
Justice League Dark: Too many creative changes, no consistency with the roster, and now this whole Blight story arc that's 5 month long and cross over into several other books I was not even reading -_-
Shadowman: (well I already dropped this) The book became extremely aimless when the first arc ended.
Aquaman. It just hasn't been keeping me interested lately....
Are you gonna give the new writer a chance though?
Infinity and Avengers. I jumped on both at the start of the Infinity event and I'm so confused sometimes. There's a lot of characters tht I don't know. Also, Hickman's writing takes a bit getting used to as well.
All that said, I still dig Hickman's epic "cosmic-ness" he brings to the Avengers. I'm going stick it through because I do want to read Avengers in the future. I just wish I started reading Avengers at issue one instead of Uncanny Avengers >:(
One I've also thought about dropping was Hunger. I was stoked to see Galactus get his own series, but was disappointed from the first issue. I also do not like how they've been drawing him. There seemed to have been a long period in between the two previous issues (I believe the most recent was released two weeks ago), I just felt that it wasn't doing so good that they cancelled it.
I also dropped Avengers AI
@arturocalakayvee: @blkson: Shadowman is getting a new writer at issue 13, ive only read issue 1 but I really like it, im gonna buy it in a deluxe hardcover.
Action Comics and Teen Titans, Action because I forgot to order it for a few months and because Psywar looks lame, and TT because its been steadily mediocre. Also: all of my Marvel titles; but only because I buy them digitally and I can't do that safely right now from this virus-ridden pornbox.

wait, marvel is virus ridden?? is this from the main site? or from comixology or other side digital providers

Yea I heard about that, i'm going to trade wait the first few issue and maybe hope back on if it's good.

........... LMAO!
I need to drop quite a few titles. Just bought 6 Marvel Now trades.
Just dropped Fairy Tail after that incredibly predictable arc, lame dragons that did no real damage, still no character devlopment more and more a**pull and power up all wrapped in a stupid fan service cover.
I'M DONE
@jldoom: If I hear the new writer's good then yes.
Batman/Superman once Jae Lee leaves it.
Talon once the Bane arc is finished.
Either Lazarus or Velvet once I decide which one to keep, for financial reasons.
Batman/Superman for me

have you thought about trade-waiting for one of them? You tend to get more bang for your buck that way
@mercy_: I actually prefer singles 'cause it's like paying in installments. Also, I'm kinda rougher on my trades (don't ask how) and more careful about preserving single issues.
Actually, another reason is that knowing both writers, I can tell the books will probably have a similar style/feel. I might end up feeling burnt out reading both at the same time.
@gunmetalgrey: Ahhhh, that's fair enough!
And very true, they both are very similar in tone. They should both be pretty awesome, though.
@battle_forum_junkie: Cool :D
I've heard good things about the new writer (Jeff Parker I believe is his name) but I've never read anything from him.

He's saying due to viewing porn that isn't clean, his computer caught STDs.
I dropped Hawkeye because I didn't like the style and the running gags in the series
I dropped Daredevil because he started acting like Peter Parker and I find the stories uninteresting
I dropped Red Hood & the Outlaws because the series is plain boring now.
I will pick up Daredevil as soon as Mark Waid leaves though

That's actually why I like FT. Its a light little read that gives me something to look forward to Friday mornings on the way to class. Nothing sophisticated, minimal complexity.
There are a few titles that I am thinking about dropping:
1.GOTG - I am not a fan of Bendis' portrayal of the characters but it has gotten better over the last couple issues so I have stuck with it and will probably get the next issue and decide from there.
2. Shadowman - it's really the only Valiant title that has been disappointing to me. I will probably drop it if I don't like the new teams first arc.
3. Swamp Thing - I have enjoyed the story since Soule took over but Villain month killed the momentum of a story that is already slow to unfold and it has killed my interest. Still not sure if I am going to pick up the next issue.
