Robert Downey Jr. Willing to do Iron Man 4 After All?

Previous reports suggested the Iron Man actor wouldn't be back for a 4th solo film.

But in speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Robert Downey Jr. seemed much more open to the idea.

“It’s down to Kevin [Feige, Marvel Studios president] and Ike [Perlmutter, CEO of Marvel Entertainment] and Disney to come to us with what the proposal is, and that’s on us to agree or disagree,” Downey said. “When things are going great, there’s a lot of agreement.

"Right now, this has just been swell, hasn’t it?” he continued, in reference to the upcoming Avengers: The age of Ultron. “This has been a really good one and it feels good and we’re having a good time.

“It’s that thing of: Why give up the belt when it feels like you can barely get jabbed?” he apparently said, before adding, “Most people are saying that right when they get knocked out. The future is, as usual, uncertain."

It's not surprising considering how much he gets paid to be Tony Stark.

I don't have a problem with him returning as I see his portrayal as himself, I mean Tony Stark as one of the best things about the Marvel Cinematic Universe just like Hugh Jackman and Wolverine, he should play Tony for as long as he can.

That wasn't even slightly RDJ's fault. And it wasn't that bad.

As long as we have good Iron-man movies. Look the guy has alot of talent,and shows that in his performance as Tony Stark he deserves what he gets paid;he's good at his job. Whereas people like Kim Kardashian are talentless and yet make thousands of dollars.

Agreed, I can't imagine anyone else as Iron Man, he should be Iron Man for another 5 years at least.

@daredevil21134: Age isn't a problem Arnold Schwarzenegger is like 60,and is still doing action movies.Samuel Jackson is alot older than RDJ,and he did fine in the stunt scenes. I mean he's 50 yea he's getting old but its not like he's turning 70 were can hardly lift weights

I haven't been a fan of any of the Iron Man sequels. But more RDJ as Tony is never a bad thing.

I'm sure if they paid him enough money, he could come back as Iron Man and roll around in the mud. No one ever gets "sick" of a role until they get old or the studio stops paying them.

Pierce Brosnan probably had another 2-3 Bond movies left in him before Die Another Day bombed and MGM wasn't willing to back him any more.

RDJ as Iron Man, absolutely...he has made the character the popular, so like Hugh Jackman keep him in the role !!

I would be happy if he returns to to the role, he just does Tony justice.

@jaken7: Normally, I wouldn't really care for another IM film, but 'All Hail The King' worked perfectly as a teaser and got me interested in the franchise again.

I thought it was pretty bad, the Mandarin change was pretty appalling in my opinion until they revealed the Mandarin was still out there in the oneshot. But overall, I don't think it was nearly as bad as some make it out to be, it didn't sicken me like Batman vs Robin or anything, nothing to get angry at the studio over.
