I'm guessing because heroes need be related to? Then again, there are a bunch of nonhuman Lanterns and they don't really pertain to Earth, so that's probably why the only ones that matter are the human ones. Regardless, I don't like the idea of more Lanterns for no real reason...

I think they're just turning John Stewart into an Arabic instead of an Afro-American, or something of the sort. Its supposed to be an origin issue, which would explain the gun, since he's was a Marine.

Quick question, If you have one of the most powerful weapons in the universe what the hell do you need a gun for exactly? That's kind of like Wolverine showing up with a pocket knife.

It's not always odd for a GL to have a gun - as long as it's a ring construct, it's okay. John used a sniper rifle on many occasions (point for the badass Marine that he is)

Well, you don't know the context of the scan. Thin about it this way: He could have just gotten the ring, he could be extremely in proficient with it, it could be part of his human uniform etc etc.

I don't think everyone is getting it. If it is in fact John the gun could just be symbolizing what he was before getting the ring. 
Not something he is actually using after he gets the ring.

If it's John, then he is now into Kyle's type of sophisticated costumes. I like this scan, even though the gun is pointless.

I don't think everyone is getting it. If it is in fact John the gun could just be symbolizing what he was before getting the ring. Not something he is actually using after he gets the ring.

Yes, glowing green letters on the arm of a person affiliated with an alien organization. It should most certainly be assumed to be human.

Yeh, it is an origin issue maybe he used to be a cop or in the armed forces and thats a service pistol. Aesthetically, it would look better if the gun was a construct, though.

Looks cool. Muslim GL! Son looks like he wants to avenge someone. I hope this GL goes far in the new continuity. I actually also believe that this GL may be a response to the letter that Geoff Johns got from that Arabic comic creator who displayed some disappointment when the Black Manta killed that Arabic lady (fairly good powers) in Aquaman 7, I think. Look it up. But I believe DC is making a smart move trying to illustrate all the colors of people on this Earth that we all share.

Don't like it, too bad. Times are changing, and DC is recognizing it, and acting accordingly.
