Neil Gaiman vs Alan Moore
Moore. Greatest CB writer of all time. Gaiman is good but lacks Moore's versatlity. Seriously Moore can write any damn comic and its going to be awesome
Too close to call.
American Gods is orgasmic... but maybe that's just because it has so many interesting ideas. Like when Wednesday asks what gets a plane off the ground? Aerodynamics and physics or the hundreds of thousands of people who believe that it'll fly?
Gaiman is more consistently good to me.
Ignore this guy he had only read 2 Moore comics and skimmed though the second one.
Moore is his answer now that he actually read his work.
I think I like Alan more (wink) when he’s at his best but Neil is a lot more consistent with his writing and I’ve read a lot of his novels recently.
So I’ll say Mister Neil.
Both are awesome though.
It's a very hard pick, as both writers are frankly the cream of the crop in terms of writing quality. I'll have to go with Moore if only because I'm more familiar with his work and style.
Both are great, but I would have to say, Gaiman. because imo he doesn't rely on disturbing the reader quite so heavily. Moore's Swamp Thing was fantastic that's really his best work imo, 1963 was great fun, but sometimes Moore's comics are either trying to do too much or they're not saying anything meaningful at all.
I think Gaiman better understands the limitations and possibilities of comics and writes within those boundaries. he can write a story which is overtly simple but subtly brilliant.
but again both are great.
Probably Moore. While I love Whatever Happened to the Caped Crusader?, V for Vendetta is a masterpiece.
Moore. Not sure I was really that much invested in Sandman despite reading most of his books or his audiobooks. But I still consider him one of the greats. My sister isn't really that much into comics but I persuade her to read his comicbooks as well as his novels like American Gods and Ocean At The End Of The Tunnel so there is that.
