Female Ghost Rider (?)

I was reding the new Venom series when something realy surprised me. I was watching a review of the "Circle of Four" mini-event when Ghost Rider suddenly has chainged sex. Yeah just like that. Now what should this mean!!? What happened to Johny Blaze and how long has "he" become "she"?

I'm listening carefully.

There's been more than one Ghost Rider, and I know at least one was a woman.

Johnny Blaze gave up being Ghost Rider, and the spirit was bonded to a woman.

I know that but I thought that only one could be GR at the moment. Thanks anyway...

In all fairness she is a terrible Ghost Rider. I found her to be the least enjoyable character in Circle of Four.

Read Ghost Rider Vol 7. It was written by Rob Williams, and explains why Johnny gave up the spirit and who the Female Rider is. The idea of a female rider was nice, but the book was not great.

Alejandra's her name..Quite the sad story as to how she became GR. Blaze had finally come to terms with being ghost rider at the end of motorstorm..which was a funny issue because it had Spider-man riding Ghost Rider's bike

Anyways the new series for GR started up like a year/year and a half ago and Rob Williams takes over..He had Blaze whining again and wanting to get rid of the GR curse even though he came to terms with it,as said,in Motorstorm thus contradicting the issue. This dude named Adam(which I guess was from Adam and Eve)makes a deal with Johnny to get rid of the curse so he does and it passes on to Alejandra. To say she is one of the worst ghost riders ever would be an understatement..Williams had some wtf moments going on like when Adam had her create that giant ghost rider bike

The writing in it was terrible..Williams had Blaze seem like his character was annoying to other characters and had him making jokes like he was deadpool or something. Definitely out of character for Blaze and like the complete opposite of the Blaze that Jason Aaron gave us. Ghost Rider is just one of those heroes who imo should just always be male..It just doesn't look right as a female,because I mean a flaming skeleton with boobs? eh. The only good part was Blaze taking back the curse at the end. Here's what Alejandra looks like now lol

As for only one ghost rider..aaron's run kind of changed that. Alejandra was host to Zarathos which is why it might seem confusing for one who doesn't keep up with the story..She was host to Blaze's spirit,but in Aaron's story they had Blaze and Ketch both as GR because they had Zarathos and Kale bonded to them again(although their spirits were never mentioned it's common sense for one to assume). I can't remember if he went into detail about it or not but you could check out Cadence's thread on GR

IIRC, there is a WHAT IF story line where Danny Ketch sister, Barbara (The one meant to be GR) was not killed by Deathwatch and become Ghost Rider.

Honestly, the idea was nice, but horribly executed, which is a damn shame.

I wanted to add that Barbara was never killed by Deathwatch in the original story, she was hit by an arrow/crossbow bolt by one of Deathwatch's goons and ended up in a coma. Only after Blackout learned of Danny's identity did she meet a painful end as Blackout ripped her throat out and killed her.

I liked the Circle of Fourarc, but then I'm a sucker for any variation on the New Fantastic Four concept. Loved that story.

Because GR is just a character that should never be female..It just looks..wrong. Cover art before some ever saw Alejandra implied that the female GR would've had hair which looked incredibly stupid. A flaming skull with hair..yeah

No sideburn.."bad ass biker anti-hero" has already been taken by Blaze,which is why it was even more pointless to create Alejandra. I didn't mind the one female GR in Jason Aaron's series in the battle between the last riders against Ketch and Zadkiel's angels but she was a lesser character..Imo Blaze and Ketch will always be the best lead GRs.

Here would be my candidates for a female ghost rider (From DC)

Sometimes female opposite-gender characters may do well, but certainly not in this case.

...And yeah, that hair does look stupid.
