I guess you’re new to Thanos? He’s considered a Transcendent tier. He’s between Surfer/Thor and Odin. He’s beaten Thor several times, once in the seventies with just two eyeblasts.

Notably before Odin fought Thanos, he one shotted Surfer. Thanos sustained numerous similar blows without succumbing.

I’d estimate Thanos to be roughly three times as strong as the Surfer canonically.

Thor had the OF and several other equipment when he beat that clone. He's never beaten him otherwise.

When he onshots surfer? its can be said as surfer can cosmically increases his physical strength to match the likes of thor but normal circumstances he doesn't probably why thanos was able to onshots him.

I only know of three times thor and thanos fought and thanos looked damn serious fighting thor in their fights have seen, I don't recall thanos can put thor down with just one blast;probably the fight parts of thor was cut off.

It's almost like having dozens of writers working on a single franchise will inevitably lead to inconsistencies and creative differences in their works.

I don't recall someone like Anti Monitor being shown to lose to mid-tiers though. That's like if we had Galactus lose to, say, the New Warriors.

In that case, you are probably more passionate about continuity than these new writers are. I may be sounding pessimistic but who wouldn't be after seeing what lengths comics have gone to ruin their legacy characters' past stories in order to create new ones... like with a certain, arachnid based superhero.

Well there's that as well. I just see that as more of a case of bad lore/"nothing will be the same again!!!" shameless controversy cash-grab than something like this which is more power levels and whatnot.

I bet the majority of writers don't go for any consistency for certain individual characters. Whoever writes stuff like this, they mostly don't care. And I certainly hate it.
