Like whats your idea of full power? Normal full power? Thor with Odin Force? RKT Thor? Thanos at full power with the IG would win and the other full power is the one with the HOTU and he stomps any Thor.
Thanos has fought Thor before and kicked his butt many times.
He fought against Thor's papa, big bad Odin. He didn't win, but he did stand his ground. So he is around skyfather level in normal means, higher if given prep.
So many people seem to not understand how powerful items like the infinity gauntlet and the hotu are. Even items like the ultimate nullifier are ridiculous. In fact, even cosmic cubes have crazy amounts of power.

It comes down to what the defination of full power is, because if we are going down Thor being RKT while Thanos being just Thanos but he gets IG in the first round then its a very one sided affair.
With IG Thanos can beat, neh stomp, any version of Thor we have seen thus far, including RKT or when Thor was merged with Atum.
Without IG Thanos could likely beat Odin Force Thor in a long and hard battle, probably stand up to King Thor with it going either way i would favour King Thor, RKT would just stomp Thanos.

And he was not utilizing them for personal combat, rather he had incorporated them into a machine that was to snuff out the stars one by one. I'm fairly certain this was pure Thanos, though I could be mistaken. It has been quite some time since I read this storyline and I do not own a copy myself.

That was actually the previous story arc. During the instance from the scan, he only had the Soul Gem, and he was using that to power another machine which would only blow up earth's sun. No indication that he was amped by it, and at that point in time, and the Soul Gem doesn't really amp a person's powers anyway, and again, Thanos didn't actually have it on his person.
So yeah, even before his resurrection power up, Thanos was perfectly capable of manhandling Thor on his own.

He however stole the essense of Infinity Gem and created a device, operating seperately, the device was going to destroy every every stars in the Galaxy.
It was Thanos with absolutely no amp whatsoever, against the Avengers and he only lose because Adam Warlock, merged with the synthetic gem, turned him into stone.

Its spot-on, its from Marvel Two in One Annual # 2 , the story was later reprinted in a trade called Avengers: The Final Threat.

Well yes, there is a page where it talks about how Thanos acquired the gem, and the last panel says he merged the gems into the giant synthetic gem, few pages later we actually even see the canon ready with a mike like handle hanging from the spaceship (from vague memory)
Then this has also been mentioned in few handbooks, that the gems were all used up for the creation of synthetic gem in Thanos Sourcebook, and his 1983, 1986 and 2006 bio (coz i had the same debate with someone on KMC few months earlier).
Try and post any scans you might find, else i have the entire thing myself i'll post it in few hours.
@betatesthighlander1: Cheers. Best thing to use to try and figure out what part of Thanos was taken away as Thanosi (force retcon by Starlin) and when he is amped is Thanos Sourcebook, thats like the perfect guide.
