Honestly, the way Mister X performs currently, he's holding back his team.

Are you talking about the instance with carrion? If so I would argue those are 2 different instances. Mister X reads peoples minds where as Carrion tried to physically take Kaine over. We did see kaine black out briefly in issue 7 of his ongoing from TP (I think it was issue 7 it was with the rangers).

Not to mention wolverine also has telepathic shields and this didn't stop mister X.

Either way, Mister X is the weak link. I have my doubts as to if he can accurately read his mind, and without being able to read his moves, he shouldn't even be in this match frankly. Though the possibility of him switching to the nervous system reading could work. Wolverine would split Kaine, and beat Kraven 7/10, but X is just dead weight here.
