Ok guys I may have made a stomp, but I wanted to get a good gauge of Dooku's power level. Please explain why and how you think each character would win.

Yeah, still don't buy that Vader=Jerec bullshit. The quote for Jerec rivaling is from the perspective of Qu Rahn, someone who's never even met Vader. If we're going to start using in-universe quotes might as well go with Kenobi being > Sidious.

One source that states Jerec rivals Vader is from Qu Rahn, so it's irrelevant. Another is from a source that literally opens up by saying this:

It's a source used to describe how to play a game, any other information in it is faulty. Therefore, Jerec rivalling Vader is retarded. And if we buy into that, there's quotes that say Mara Jade rivals Vader and that both she and Sedriss surpass Jerec. So what happens now?

So Vader > Sedriss > Jerec opens up a pretty big gap, which means Jerec couldn't possibly rival Vader. I'm all for using quotes to dictate a proper level of scaling and establish fact, but let's also not chuck critical thinking out the window just yet.

That's assuming we scan every single page of every single sourcebook on the matter and scan it word by word.

I don't think people either care or have that much time for such things here. It hardly has anything to do with critical thinking.

That said I always felt that Jerec rivaling Vader was implausible because of Kyle Katarn's fight with him. Luke got stomped by Vader despite having several months of training from Yoda himself. There is no way that Kyle, someone whose potential is infinitely lesser than Luke's can beat someone rivaling Vader without any training.

Vader is shite, rivalling him isn't impressive.

@frozen: Really the whole Post-ROTJ EU is insanely buffed. We have people like GM Luke who can move black holes and DE Sidious who can conjure force storms with enough potency to destroy the whole universe.

You also have people like Caedus and Krayt who are complete powerhouses. Post ROTJ actually earn their hype IMO unlike TOR characters who are insanely wanked.

@frozen: Caedus is overrated imo. I've seen people say he would stomp Sidious and that he's an equal to GM Luke despite Luke ragdolling him with almost no effort. But as for TOR, I wholly agree. People saw those trailers and just assumed no one from the main saga could challenge anyone from the Old Republic era.

Well Caedus isn't Luke tier but he is far above the likes of Vader or Starkiller IMO not just in power but also hax. But compared to Sheev or Luke he loses.

TOR wank has been out of control in the last few years but I think recently its began to decrease. Especially after the SI purge that happened last year.

I wish this was the case for yt. Revan/Malak wank is worse than it's ever been on there. People use Luke's low showing against Kun, and then the non-canon WOTC quote to put Revan and Malak as the two most powerful SW characters of all time.
