GotG (MCU) vs The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen

Two epic teams face off in a battle! Here we go!

Rules (read carefully):

• Rules for the League:
  • Skinner starts invisible
  • Nemo only has his sword, no crew or nautilus
  • Jekyll starts off as Hyde
  • Agent Sawyer wields two Winchester Model 1873 rifles and two Colt New Army revolvers. He does not have unlimited ammo. He has to make his shots count.
  • Quartermain uses two .455 Webley revolvers, and his rifle "Matilda" as seen in the movie. He does not have unlimited ammo. He has to make his shot count.
  • Dorian only has his sword he used during the first time the Phantom attacked at his house while they were trying to recruit him.
  • Mina has all demonstrated abilities from the movie (bat summoning, flight, etc)
  • Morals OFF for all team members.
• Rules for the Guardians:
  • Drax has his two blades
  • Gamora has the sword she used to attack Groot
  • Starlord has all gear except his Hadron Enforcer (the one that shoots a concentrated beam of nuclear explosions)
  • Rocket has all gear except the Hadron Enforcer (see above)
  • Groot is Groot.
  • Morals OFF for all team members.

Considering that Dorian is immortal and invulnerable, the only way to make this a fair fight is to make the following stipulation:

• Dorian's portrait is located somewhere in a room within a 100 yard radius from the battlefield and is clearly visible, not hidden under floorboards or anything. The Guardians are aware of this and must send one of their members to go look for it. You choose which member of the team must go search for it. That member cannot come back until it's retrieved. Once that member brings it back, Dorian will be forced to look at it and subsequently die.

Location:

Teams start of the opposite end of this street.

Win by KO/death. No BFR. If a member of either team gets knocked out, they are disqualified and are automatically BFR'd and cannot return. The only exception is Dorian (see above stipulation).

I tried to put some real thought into this battle, and would appreciate well thought answers as well. Thanks!

GotG stomp.

Groot could probably solo. The rest of the team goes to get the picture. Hyde is the biggest problem, Skinner might be too, but eventually they will be brought down.

LOEG stomp my friend. Mina the vampire she can take out Gamora no problem & Dorian Grey or Captain Nemo. Mr Hyde stomps Drax no problem. Sawyer or Quatermain could easily snipe them. Skinner can sneak up on & kill Rocket before he does anything. Mina summons bats to bother Groot & then Mr Hyde finishes them off.

I am assuming you have seen GotG. If not, spoilers ahead.

Firstly. Mina is not taking out Gamora like she is the easiest thing in the world. She showed a great deal of fighting skill in the movie. And, has a sword. That should shank Mina before she gets too close.

Secondly. Not sure what you mean when you say '& Dorian Grey or Captain Nemo.'

No. Mr. Hyde did not show that great of speed. If anything, he was a bit slower. Drax should be able to cut him up like baloney.

Fourthly. No. Not only would gunfire do nothing to Drax but annoy him, but just about everyone on the GotG team dodged gunfire when escaping the prison.

Fifthly. Pretty sure Rocket is going to be firing his gun like crazy as well as Star-Lord. Skinner is not going to be able to get through all that gunfire.

Sixthly. Groot is not going to be bothered by bats. Groot is going to start out the fight by doing what he did with those 10-15 men- spearing them and smacking them back and forth like they were dolls.

The League should win, Hyde, Skinner and Mina especially do serious damage as long as Mina doesn't go PIS like she did against Dorian and actually does what she should [fly, summon bats, go apesh*t].

@those_eyes: Yes lol. Though I dunno it's been a while since I've seen League, going by memory.

Well if you remembered Mina almost got wrecked by Dorian who only had a sword. Hyde will defeinlty be tough to put down but he isnt bullet proof. He was taking cover and needed a steel door to block from gunfire. The gotg weapons should be strong enough to take him out. No doubt its not a stomp on either side though.

Mina fought like a moron against Dorian though, she could fly and summon bats but she went h2h; it was borderline PIS.

LoEG will likely win the battle, but GotG will win the war because of Groot. The whole spaceship explosion couldn't put him down for good, and they don't have anything even close to that. It did KO him of sorts, but again, they don't have anything to replicate that feat here.

Other than that, I just don't think GotG did much to put them in many battles. Gamora didn't even put herself in Cap territory, and to be honest, Drax didn't impress either. I can't remember him doing anything particularly strong that lands him above peak human. If so, someone refresh my memory.

At least LoEG has people who are formidable based on abilities. Heck, Skinner could cause all kinds of havoc just being invisible. Starlords visor was able to allow him to kinda see past events, not sure if it allows him to see in thermal view or something.

This is a great battle.

Dorian and Mina are fast and dangerous on top of the healing factor. Hell Mina can fly and summon bats. The 2 vampires should be able to take out 4 of the guardians without much difficulty. But Groot is the problem.

I have to go with League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

Gonna go with the Guardians on this. Drax needs more feats but I'm pretty sure he has more speed and durability than Hyde. Groot could solo the rest pretty easily. Gammora would probably go out mid fight, I think she could handle Mina or Dorian but not both at the same time. Star Lord and Rocket might go out the quickest, but they are the smartest and carry the most tech. They could probably take two of the other for down before being K/O ed or killed. Drax and Groot would win in a very close fight.

Gotta go with the League on this one. Good battle but between the immortals Hyde Skinner and Nemo's H2H I think the LXG takes it with IMO Groot being the only thing really standing in their way.

@realitywarper: are you high? Gamora is not soloing anything. She was nigh useless in the movie.

@nerdchore: I didn't see the movie but there is some character profiles you know. There is no precisions about the version at the beginning of the topic so I stated we use the comics version for both of them and so yes : Gamora solos.

Rocket Racoon > Marksman + acute senses + superior weaponry

Star Lord > Marksman with two laser guns.

Groot > Superior bodyguard with unmatched strenght and resilience in the two teams

Dorian Gray is invulnerable but still human, he can be stopped. >>> Groot can catch him while the others find the portrait at the end of the fight.

The others can be cut in pieces by the superior weaponry.

Drax and Gamora are bonuses.

LOEG is game over.

EDIT : The only one really dangerous is Quatermain. He has awesome shooting skills. Mina is not a problem.

Mina is physically superior to all except Groot of the Guardians, and even then her speed is far superior. Add to that, a century or two of experience.

Hyde is stronger than any of the Guardians, and Quartermain and Sawyer are better marksmen.

Dorian, Skinner and Nemo are pretty much a bonus.

Mina and Hyde can easily handle them in close-combat, while Quartermain and Sawyer provide ranged support. Leaving Nemo and either Skinner or Dorian to guard the painting, while the other(skinner or dorian) can assist in the actual combat as a wildcard.

With the movie-versions in use, Drax and Gamora are next to useless.

Great battle, I say the League wins due to sheer versatility. Two near immortals, Hyde who has strength feats above Drax, Expert marksman in Quartermain, and expert swordsman in Nemo. Not to mention an invisible man.

For the record, Hyde wasn't impressive.

Honestly Mina fighting without PIS can near solo, the only reason why she fought that way against Dorian was because of her feelings for him and Plot
