    The planet Prysmos suffers a complete shutdown of all electronic devices. As it enters a new age of magic, the wizard Merklynn chooses two groups of people, the Spectral Knights and the Darkling Lords, to wield special powers for his own purposes.

    Visionaries started out as a range of action figures by Hasbro, which later expanded into this cartoon series and a comic book series by Star Comics.

    The Spectral Knights are based in New Valarak and the Darkling Lords are based in Castle Darkstorm. Most of the good guys and bad guys have magic staffs, each with a unique spell. Those without staffs are able to power up vehicles.
