    Creation

    According to some, the name 'Van de Kasseien' refers to Willy Vandersteen ('kasseien' and 'steen' both meaning 'stone'), in whose studio Merho used to work. Merho had modeled the character after the actor Jerry Desmonde, who always played an arrogant businessman in Norman Wisdoms movies.
