New York Thunderbolt

Eergo traveled from Monster Isle to New York City to see Alicia Masters' art installation, "Here Be Monsters," at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, hoping to see a sculpture of himself. Unfortunately, his monstrous appearance scared some of the other museum goers, who were eventually evacuated by security. Mayor Cage's Thunderbolts were called in to take him on, except he was being defended by a group of teenagers who saw him as their own personal E.T.-type buddy.

He attempted to mind meld with Persuasion in order to learn English. This was interpreted as an attack by the other Thunderbolts, who defended their teammate, only to end up instigating chaos in The Met. When the dust settles and with Eergo now understanding English, he was able to defend his presence and eventually get an invitation to join the team thanks to his Yoda-like appeal with kids.

Unfortunately, the team is not the biggest success. Despite the budget they were spending, there was not a significant drop in crime. This is mostly thanks to Nightmare secretly targeting the team with psychic attacks, especially Ms. America, who he has been following since her time as a West Coast Avenger. Luckily, The Thunderbolts were able to focus as a team and hit him with everything they got. Eegro was able to grow to a ridiculous height and smash the dream demon, however, he got stuck that way.

Despite the team's failure in the public eye, Luke Cage kept them around probationally.

Powers

Monstrous: Eergo has monstrous features, including a skull shaped like horns and a pair of rocky fists. His skin is naturally purple, and his hair is naturally green

• Strength: Despite his small stature, Eergo can take a wallop from Ms. America and hit back with almost as much strength.
• Heat Generation: His rocky hands can heat up, glowing red hot and eventually catching fire. He can then use this to burn or melt objects he touches.

Psychic: Although it is unknown if he can initiate a psychic connection, he was able to overwhelm an existing connection. When Persuasion attempted to psychically attack him, he was able to flood her mind with his complicated language and learn her native tongue in the process.

Size Manipulation: Eegro's name is meant to sound like "He grow," because he is capable of increasing his size to that of a skyscraper. However, he does not seem to be able to reverse the change.
