    Short summary describing this movie.

No recent wiki edits to this page.

Somewhere off the eastern coast of America lies Mega City One, a vast violent metropolis, built on the ruins of the old world, where criminals rule the chaotic streets.

The only force of order lies with the Judges, a futuristic police force who possess the combined powers of judge, jury and executioner. Known and feared throughout the city, Dredd is the ultimate Judge, tasked with ridding the city of its latest scourge, a dangerous drug epidemic that has users of 'Slo-Mo' experiencing reality at a fraction of its normal speed.

Dredd is assigned to train and evaluate Cassandra Anderson, a rookie with powerful psychic abilities due to a genetic mutation. A heinous crime calls them to a neighborhood where fellow Judges rarely dare to venture, a 200-story vertical slum controlled by prostitute-turned-drug lord, Ma-Ma, and her ruthless clan.

When they capture one of the clan's inner circle, Ma-Ma overtakes the compound's control center and wages a brutal, vicious war against the Judges, stopping at nothing to protect her empire. With the body count climbing and no way out, Dredd and Anderson must confront the odds and engage in a relentless battle for their survival.

A sequel to the movie runs in Judge Dredd Megazine 340-

    Official Synopsis

"DREDD takes us to the wild streets of Mega City One, the lone oasis of quasi-civilization on Cursed Earth. Judge Dredd (Karl Urban) is the most feared of elite Street Judges, with the power to enforce the law, sentence offenders and execute them on the spot – if necessary. The endlessly inventive mind of writer Alex Garland and the frenetic vision of director Peter Travis bring DREDD to life as a futuristic neo-noir action film that returns the celebrated character to the dark, visceral incarnation from John Wagner and Carlos Ezquerra’s revered comic strip."

I went to see this film in 3D and I was presently surprised. Not at the film itself I always had a lot of faith that it would be good but I thought the 3D wouldn't work on this film and actually it's one of the best films I've seen in 3D. It is also the pound for pound best comic book film out this year as it only cost $45 million whereas The Amazing Spider-Man, The Dark Knight Rises and The Avengers all cost over $200 million and this film about the same level of quality.PlotSPOILER FREESet in ...

Great way to reboot the franchise! 0

I'll start by saying that I've had the privilege of watching this movie early. I went in with high expectations and came out very pleased with the overall result. I'll start by saying that the film is completely different from the 1995 version, which is a good thing. If you actually liked the 1995 version (I've never came across anyone who liked it), then this isn't the movie for you. But if you're a fan of the comics or just want some good fun, this is the movie for you. I also won't reveal any...

The following review contains slight spoilers for Dredd. If you haven't seen it yet, there isn't anything major here that spoils the film, but still a warning.Well, I had nothing to do through all of April and was SO bored. I eventually decided to try some more movies, and started looking for anything that looked semi-interesting. I remembered hearing something on this site during something about 2012 comic movies and heard about something called Dredd. I checked Comic Vine's Page or it, and...
