    The Good

The Dead Presidents story proved co-writers Gerry Duggan and Brian Posehn have no gripe when it comes to delivering laughs and crazy action. But as fun as that may be, a Deadpool book obviously needs more than that. When it comes to Wade, I want to see some signs of character development and depth. I want the stories to be more complex than "that's the problem, go kill it." Luckily for us, they've done a great job with this story's finale.

Everything wraps up in a very satisfying manner. As expected, there's more than a handful of big laughs ("OH YEAH!", the dudes in the ice cream truck) and a fair portion of this issue is dedicated to Vetis absolutely humiliating Wade across the city. I would have liked to see Deadpool put up more of a fight, but it's understandable seeing how powerful Vetis is and it's still a really humorous beatdown. Where this issue really shines, however, is the final set of scenes and a super quick moment where Deadpool saves an onlooker's life. I won't spoil either for you, but both were easily the standout moments for me. In addition to doing a solid job wrapping everything up, Duggan and Posehn are able to pave the way for the next story. Aside from how the group gets into Wade's head, the transition doesn't feel forced at all and has me particularly interested to see if the tone will change after this somewhat dark course of events.

Honestly, what can I say about Mike Hawthorne and Val Staples that I haven't already said in every other review? The duo is consistent when it comes to presenting bright, detailed and energetic artwork. They're a great fit for every emotional shift and frenetic moment the two writers throw their way. When all is said and done, I'd have to say watching Vetis switch between the plethora of forms was the biggest visual treat this issue offered.

    The Bad

Why did Deadpool say they should hear Mephisto's offer if he clearly had no intention whatsoever of accepting it? Also, how would shape shifting allow Vetis to duplicate Cyclops, Magneto and Klaw's abilities?

    The Verdict

Co-writers Gerry Duggan and Brian Posehn give Vetis' arc a terrific conclusion and it's a fitting lead into their next tale. It delivers everything I've come to expect from Deadpool's latest solo series: solid looking pages, plenty of laughs, enjoyable action and sprinkles of character development and depth from Wade. The Merc with a Mouth is in good hands. They're somewhat twisted hands... but good hands nonetheless.

@battle_forum_junkie: Yep! As does Superior Spider-man, All New X-Men and Avengers (don't recall others that do)

So obviously Mephisto is still ruler of Hell. I knew the other writers at Marvel would ignore how X-Factor's "Hell on Earth War" ended.

SPOILER. Please answer if you have read though.

I just one question, why was important that Deadpool did what he did at that time. Mike had talked about Vetis' heart turning black with corruption..what does that matter?
