I think he is a great choice for the character, however there is a part of me that is sad we will never see Thomas Jane come back to the character.

It's relatively easy to accomplish when they have a wealth of source material to go off from Punisher MAX and the like.

@war_killer: He might be a villain of sorts. I think he would work better as an antagonist of sorts - he has the same goal as DD, but he has to stop him because of his ways. Or whatever

Not the first person that comes to mind when I think of Frank Castle. But that's not to say that I don't like the move. I think this is really going to work out well. Regardless, I'm just happy to see the Punisher back on the screen.

Good guy for the role! Now I am 110% psyched for season 2, although I was already 100% psyched for it. Daredevil is the best show on tv, bar none.

@stormkith: only one of us brought up race and it wasnt me, check your racism deary. i was just giving two examples of people i love, i could easily said black cat or some other white person, i chose who i chose. and i stand by my original statement. these shows/movies are NOT made for comic fans, we are not enough to support them. they are made for the general audience at large. as "popular" as you THINK the punisher is he isnt (someone need to check all those failed comics and films instead of fanboy delusion). i've been reading comics since i was 15 with a collection bigger than most (in the tens of tousands) and despite the fact that he appeared in the spiderman animated series i didnt know of him until his second film, thats how irrelevant and forgetful he is. you could argue they havent gotten him right yet but based on the response to the last film (a flop) you would be wrong. critics and fans alike loved that film and praise it for "finally getting the punisher right". so obviously as is he doesnt work. so unless they do some changes (i.e. frank castle in name only) its just more of the same. so back to my original statement: the punisher has been given three chances while other characters (name anyone white since obviously thats all that matters to you) havent been given even one. that was my point.

and since YOU brought up race: whats so wrong with having a black female super hero in marvel cinematic universe, especially since so far we have had none so far. oh and that was rhetorical. dont hate us cause we're fierce, embrace the awesome. :)

@mrmazz: would love to see misty's heroes for hire team: shang-chi, black cat, coileen wing, tarantula, humbug. so much awesomeness just waiting to be made. sad that the perfect casting for misty (vivica a. fox) is too old now. back in her kill bill days she would have nailed it

Glad for Punisher being there. Makes sense considering the tone of the show is based on the Frank Miller run of DD comics, in which Punisher had a role.

Just wish Thomas Jane had the role (again) this guy should do ok though.

Put in Elektra and Bullseye and Season 2 will be ready to fire on all cylinders.

Would like to see a Punisher standalone series, with each episode ending with him and Micro in the van headed down the road after resolving the current situation they are in (kinda like the ending of the old Bill Bixby Hulk show which always ended with David Banner walking out of town with the sad music playing, except for Punisher it would need to be much more dark & ominous music.)

Although, I did prefer Thomas Jane returning his Punisher role after watching Dirty Laundry. I'm definitely happy to see the former TWD actor stepping in.
