As a child, Matt Murdock was blinded by radioactive waste while trying to save an elderly stranger about to get hit by a truck carrying the dangerous material. In turn, his other senses were heightened to superhuman sharpness and he gained a form of "radar sense". By day, he is a successful trial lawyer; but by night, he guards Hell's Kitchen as Daredevil: the Man Without Fear.
Yes. He does a good job of capturing the mixture of charm, charisma, conflict, and anger that makes DD/Matt a great character. I think he tries to be a little too subtle/quiet at times maybe, but overall he's been a surprisingly good casting.
It's also a bonus that he doesn't have a silly voice or voice effect when he's in-costume.
I think he's extremely well cast and performs flawlessly according to the direction. It's the direction in the first place that I don't quite enjoy. Netflix made Matt Murdock just another brooding, violent antihero in the wake of The Dark Knight and Arrow.
