Desperate Dawg is the name of two characters from The Dandy. The original was an anthropomorphic dog who was sheriff of a Wild West town. The more recent one is Desperate Dan's pet dog.
1970s Dandy character who would be cheered (Rah-Rah!) if something good happens (like getting away with mischief), and booed if something bad happens (like getting in trouble).
"Izzy Skint - you bet he is!" His name is a pun on "Is he skint?", and refers to the fact that he's always in need of money. Appeared in The Dandy in the 1970s.
