Jennie One is not Jennie 2.5

Jennie One is not Jennie 2.5, simple volume numbers already suggests this is an inferior series.

Channel Zero was ground breaking in its Taking Back the Streets mentality.  Channel Zero as well had the advantage of being Brian Woods baby and his baby alone.  I am not attacking Becky Cloonan's art, this story was written for her art.  Its a fun story and looks great, but much like the other AIT Planet Lar releases, this series doesn't have the same heart as Channel Zero did.  It is almost a cash grab at the fans of the original series.

It is nice to see the origin story of Jennie 2.5, but it is not needed.  Sometimes giving to much history of a character, we as fans loose the mystery of why some characters are great.  A great example is Neil Gaiman's Sandman.  We know just enough of Morpheus, any more may ruin the appeal of the character.  There is moments in this books where I loose a little bit of care for Jennie.

This is a book where you can pass on.  It will not further Channel Zero's political appeal.  It is clearly a character driven story.
    I give it a 3/5 stars
    2.5 is better then 1.
