Best Hero The World Will Never Know

    The Story:

Picking up shortly after the events of 52, Booster Gold is doing his best to become a full-fledged superhero and gain membership to the JLA. Booster finds himself cut short of his goal as Rip Hunter shows up explaining a dire crisis unraveling in which he will need Booster Gold's help with. Booster Gold and Rip Hunter travel the Timestream to the exposed wormholes someone is trying to take advantage of by erasing members of the JLA from history.

    My Thoughts:

This paperback couldn't have been given a more suitable name. It literally picks up right after 52 and the overall feel and tone of the story is strikingly similar to that of 52 as well. The writing is done by Geoff Johns and Jeff Katz who together do a marvelous job putting together this story. There were so many things about this comic I enjoyed I find it hard to find a place to begin. This being the beginning of Booster Gold's series, his character has been given the spotlight to shine. The writers waste no time at all as Booster Gold is propelled into an urgent crisis that could change the fate of millions. Normally I'm not one who enjoys time travel a whole lot, but this story was done brilliantly. I enjoyed how Booster Gold went back in time to different events to make sure they weren't changed by the person impersonating Supernova. What makes Booster Gold fun to read, is that he's different from your average costumed hero. He's greedy for starters and sometimes his motives are questionable. I enjoyed seeing him mature and grow as both a hero and a person.

I've enjoyed seeing the messages on Rip Hunter's chalkboard. It's crazy to see how far people at DC Comics have planned ahead. In this comic we get mention of Final Crisis and Blackest Night. I think it's awesome that people can plan events that far ahead and make it all unfold to perfection. One of the messages on the chalkboard read "don't worry about countdown- focus elsewhere." I'm going to have to take this into consideration as I continue reading DC titles and see if I can figure out what they're referring to.

The art is by Dan Jurgens, the creator of Booster Gold. His style is awesome. Needless to say, him being the creator of the character, he knows exactly how to draw Booster Gold. The inks and coloring were superb. I almost felt like I was reading 52 again. The quality of artwork is that good.

This is a great starting point for people interested in reading Booster Gold. Whether you know anything about him or not, all you questions about him will be answered. Great writing and artwork make this a fun and exciting comic.

The Greatest hero you should've heard about 0

I absolutely positively loved this comic and it made Booster Gold my favorite superhero. I always thought the character was awesome, but I think this pushed him over the edge to absolutely loving the character. When I started reading this, I expected this to be a fun romp with Booster Gold seeking fame and being an enjoyable read, but what I got was so much more. I am not disapointed in the least that it didnt focus on that. This really fleshes out the character and establishes him as more than ...
