    Huntress vs Lady Shiva

Just like the cover suggests, it's a duel to the death between The Huntress and Lady Shiva.

    Pros:
This is for the Huntress fans out there. For those who don't know Helen, she does not take crap from anyone. The words to describe her are brash, arrogant, loner, impulsive, and yet, she's a softie at heart. She will stand up to anyone...even if it's the deadliest woman on Earth. I give Huntress credit for standing up to Lady Shiva in order to help Dinah. Even when the odds are against her, Huntress doesn't know when to quit. Gail Simore does a wonderful job with Huntress characterization.

Once again, I love Alina Urusa's cover. I know I have a minor complaint about Alvin Lee and Adriana Melo sharing art duties, but they both do a great job with this issue. The fight between Huntress and Shiva was drawn well.

    Cons:
Again, don't expect too much from Hawk and Dove in this issue. This also applies to those following Brightest Day.

The way Sin is rescued was far-fetched. This was one of the reasons why Dinah was forced to come with White Canary, and yet, there's no guards to watch over Sin, let alone how easy it was to get to her?

This may be the most controversial part for me in this issue, but having Lady Shiva losing the advantage over Huntress is a huge blow to her character. Shiva is one of the deadliest assassins in the DC universe, and when she's in a duel to the death, odds are that you will die. There are only a few exceptions to that since her first appearance. I don't know if this was out of cockiness, but this is unacceptable. I do however, like how Shiva gave Huntress some respect giving her the name, Iron Owl.

Overall: What started off in the first part strong ends with part II to be a bit disappointing. This wasn't such a bad issue as I did enjoy Gail's writing of Huntress. I am looking forward to the next issue seeing that it's the apparent death of Oracle.

I felt Lady Shiva's fight didn't seem to destroy her character too much, it seemed pretty clear that, had the battle continued, Huntress still would've died. All she did was keep getting back up and knock over Shiva once. (Which is still damn impressive.)

But I couldn't agree more about Sin. She had this entire massive laid out plan including a private jet to Thailand and roped Lady Shiva into a battle to the death but she couldn't put a single guard on Sin? Or even have the brains to have her held far enough away that Black Canary couldn't get there in A FEW MINUTES?

I guess I'm upset at the fact that Lady Shiva hasn't had a real comeback in a while. I'm just hoping she hasn't gone soft. After the fight with Huntress, I wish she would just kick or killed White Canary's ass for putting her in that position.

And you're right about the Sin situation.  I'm glad she's alright, but come on. Even common criminals are smarter than that lol.

The Good: The art looks good like last issue, but the transitions between the 2 artists are less noticeable, which is great. Even whichever artist who's art I thought looked ugly last time didn't this time, I hardly even noticed it. I was never that into Huntress, but I have to give her huge props. What she does here is damn impressive, and it required A LOT of heart and drive. The fight scene she has is a beautiful moment of sheer awesome that totally makes up for her lack of importance in othe...

Kick Ass Action with Little Complaints 0

Birds of Prey was kinda an impulse buy when i got it last month and i was pretty happy with what i read. i mainly picked it up because of the writer, gail Simone was highly recommended by a few people i know. Though the last issue was a bit better story wise this issue is a wicked piece of action.  it almost plays like a col foreign action film  the Huntress fight in this issue was absolutely gripping and the things leading up to it got me quite excited to see it. the art helps bring it alive a...
